A layered face collage workshop exploring how women present outwardly while holding rich, unseen stories beneath. A lovely group of local women, with a warm and relaxed atmosphere of conversation and focused creative time.
Participants reflected on the many stories, skills and experiences we carry within us. One person shared feeling fully immersed in the process and noticed a reduction in anxiety.
Overall, the workshop was well received and they are all looking forward to next year when Suzan is back in St Helena Bay for more Conscious Crafting!

We’ve made a small but meaningful change…

Connect + Create is now called Conscious Crafting.

Why the change?
We wanted a name that more clearly reflects what we’re about, creating with intention, slowing down and engaging in meaningful, mindful practices.

While the name has evolved, the heart of what we do remains the same:
• nurturing creativity
• crafting with presence and purpose
• connecting with self and others

You’ll start to see the new name and updated banner across our page. We’re excited for this next chapter in the Cape, South Africa and grateful to have you along for the journey.

Coastal Keepsakes, the second Conscious Crafting workshop in the Weskus, saw a small group decoupage white mussel and crab shells with flowing sea-patterned serviettes. The two ladies who joined loved the experience and said they would be regulars! The theme of flow inspired reflections on their personal emotional state. Memorable moments included hearing their life stories and how they came to live in St Helena Bay. Many were amazed at how simple the effect was and took materials home to continue creating.

Unwind with a mindful morning retreat that blends gentle movement with creative expression. We start with a short beach walk, then a meditative shell doodling workshop facilitated by Conscious Crafting and end with a calming yoga session led by Anél The Somatologist.

The Botanical Blends workshop kicked introduced six brand new participants to layered gelliprinting with stencils and beach finds. The new St Helena Bay local ladies were curious and eager to experiment in a relaxed, creative space.

The conscious theme prompted gentle reflection, a positive affirmation card sparked personal insights and sharing. As everyone discovered the gelliprinting for the first time, they celebrated each other’s results and enjoyed the playful, pressure-free process.
