Acupuncture originated in China over 3,000 years ago and due to its proven effectiveness has been embraced throughout the world. It is a complex medical system that is used to diagnose and treat illness, prevent disease and improve general well being. It involves the insertion of very fine, pre-sterilised needles at predetermined points on the body’s surface to restore health on a physical, psychological and emotional level. It may be combined with other forms of Traditional Chinese Medicine such as:
*Moxibustion - a gentle and relaxing heat treatment, very effective for certain pains and aches.
*Cupping - cups are placed on the skin to create suction, relaxing the muscles and stimulating blood flow.
