Neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, GABA, oxytocin, and endorphins play key roles in regulating mood, motivation, social connection, and stress ✨

Research shows that simple daily habits can support the natural release of these neurotransmitters, helping you feel calmer, happier, and more motivated.

As part of our 'Support Laochas' 2025 campaign we are delighted to announce our Art competition for young people 🎨

Young people under the age of 18 are invited to submit artwork or poetry related to mental health or well-being. Entries may be interpreted individually and can include any visual art medium, such as painting, digital art, pencils, or collage. Written pieces are also accepted in any format, including spoken word or poetry!!

The winning entry will be featured on the cover of the 'Warrior Soul' 2026 calendar, with runners up appearing for each month. The calendars will include mindfulness techniques, affirmations, and selected pictures or poetry. Winners and runners up will be announced on World Mental Health Day, 10th October, at the Mental Health and Wellbeing Event in Carrickpherrish Sports Hall. This event is organised in collaboration with The Haven hub - Waterford and in association with Healthy Waterford 🌿

The event will present practical, holistic, and alternative approaches to mental health support, with a focus on resources for young people and families/carers, though it is open to all. Further details about the event will be provided in the coming days 💚💛

Entries to be submitted to laochasws@gmail.com by 5pm on the 3rd of October, alternatively contact us here and we would gladly arrange somewhere for you to drop off the piece.... Good Luck!!! 🍀
