The next 8-week Yin Yoga terms begin on March 11th. Please note that there will be a 2-week break for Easter, from March 30th to April 10th.
๐ฌ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฌ๐ผ๐ด๐ฎ:
Yin yoga is a slow form of yoga that works to gently stretch the joints and fascia. It is also deeply relaxing, increasing energy flow throughout the body and calming the mind. Each pose is held for a number of minutes while your body softly โmeltsโ, allowing the joints and fascia to gently release. Props such as bolsters, blocks and straps are provided to make the poses available even to those with tight muscles or restricted joints.
Each class will start with a short breathing (pranayama) session to settle the body and mind. We will then work through a series of poses, using the props to help you find a stretch that you can feel yet can sustain for a period of time. (This is called โfinding your edgeโ.) We hold in the pose for 3-5 minutes, then rest in shavasana (co**se pose) for about 1 minute between poses to allow the body to recover. The class will end with a longer rest in shavasana, leaving you feeling completely relaxed.
For class, you'll need a blanket and cushion as well as your mat - all other props are provided. Please arrive at least 5 mins before class to set up your mat so we're ready to start at 10:40 am.
