Great to see our apprentices Jake and James featured by Coláiste Abbáin — a school that continues to inspire future talent in engineering!
With over twenty apprentices on our team, they are at the heart of our operations, driving growth and shaping the future of Kent Stainless.
🔩 Where Are They Now? 🔩
Two of our past pupils are making their mark at Kent’s Stainless, turning their love for Engineering into exciting careers! 👏
👨🏭 Jake Furlong
Currently completing his Phase 1 Fitter (MAMF) apprenticeship, Jake always had an interest in metal fabrication and jumped at the opportunity to join the Kent’s team.
“Each day is different — from learning new welding skills to working on bespoke stainless jobs for pharma, drainage and kitchens. Coláiste Abbáin, and especially Mr. Martin, helped me build the confidence and skills that made this path possible.”
👨🏭 James O’Leary
Now in his Phase 3 Fitter (MAMF) apprenticeship, James is thriving in the fast-paced workshop environment.
“No two days are ever the same — one day I’m welding tanks or racks, the next I’m working on channel, all while having the craic with the lads! Choosing Engineering in Coláiste Abbáin and attending the Kent’s open day helped me realise this was the career for me.”
💡 Both students credit Coláiste Abbáin’s Engineering Department and Mr. Martin for inspiring their passion and connecting them to real-world opportunities in the stainless steel industry.
We’re so proud to see Jake and James thriving in their apprenticeships — living proof that practical skills can build bright futures! 👏
