Last year, MGM Partnership scooped both the Professional Services Provider of the Year Award and the Overall Business of the Year Award.

Today our team took part in our annual Christmas Jumper fundraiser. This year, our chosen charity was the Hope Cancer Support Centre CLG in Enniscorthy. The centre offers vital emotional, practical, and therapeutic support to individuals and families affected by cancer, providing compassionate care and a welcoming space for anyone touched by the illness.

Our Managing Director Ann O'Brien presented a cheque for €1,500 on behalf of Kent Stainless to Michael Jordan from the Hope Cancer Support Centre, supporting the important work the centre does in our community.

Kent Stainless were honoured to be announced as a winner of the national Generation Apprenticeship Employer of the Year Award in the medium-sized companies category this afternoon.

We currently have over twenty apprentices within our team however, throughout our company’s history, over 300 people have completed their apprenticeships with us. We are extremely proud to continue investing in the next generation of talent. Winning this award is an acknowledgment of our commitment to developing talent, supporting future careers, and promoting excellence in Irish manufacturing.

Today we celebrated International Men’s Day, recognising the positive impact men make in our workplace and community.

We welcomed Laya Healthcare on-site for free, confidential Health Screening Checks, while Dave from HSF Health Plan was available to support our team with registrations for their health cash plans.

We also held a raffle with lots of great prizes including membership for the Wexford Swimming Pool and Leisure Centre thanks to Mateusz and Emer. They also put our team to the test with a Grip Strength Challenge, which certainly brought out some competitive spirits!

A sincere thank you also to Future Nutrition for their generous support of today’s event!

👨‍🏭 Jake Furlong
Currently completing his Phase 1 Fitter (MAMF) apprenticeship, Jake always had an interest in metal fabrication and jumped at the opportunity to join the Kent’s team.

“Each day is different — from learning new welding skills to working on bespoke stainless jobs for pharma, drainage and kitchens. Coláiste Abbáin, and especially Mr. Martin, helped me build the confidence and skills that made this path possible.”

Now in his Phase 3 Fitter (MAMF) apprenticeship, James is thriving in the fast-paced workshop environment.

“No two days are ever the same — one day I’m welding tanks or racks, the next I’m working on channel, all while having the craic with the lads! Choosing Engineering in Coláiste Abbáin and attending the Kent’s open day helped me realise this was the career for me.”

💡 Both students credit Coláiste Abbáin’s Engineering Department and Mr. Martin for inspiring their passion and connecting them to real-world opportunities in the stainless steel industry.

This year’s Mick Driscoll Memorial Cup marked a special milestone as it was the 10th Anniversary of our annual soccer match honouring our colleague.

As always the match featured some questionable tactics and moves but at full-time, the Production Floor team took the well deserved win against the Office team.

In the lead-up to the match, our social committee arranged a Golden Goal competition to raise funds for the Rainbow Classes in Scoil Mhuire, Coolcotts, as chosen by the Driscoll family.
