Mindfulness Wexford is an educational & training resource, delivering high quality mindfulness workshops, courses, retreats & educational programs. It is a training resource for all those who want to learn the practical skills of Mindfulness and want to develop a personal mindfulness practice. It was set up by professional Mindfulness Instructor Una Keeley. Programmes are designed to introduce participants to the practice of mindfulness. Workshops are experiential with practical applications for daily life and the workplace. Participants are taught highly effective skills for de-stressing & handling life's challenges. The MBSR Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction 8 wk course is offered. This is the course which is recommended by Doctors & Counsellors. It is the course on which 95% of all current mindfulness research is based. Corporate Stress Reduction Training is also available for the workplace. 6 wk training programmes are available for staff. Put most simply, mindfulness is a way to train the mind, and become more present in our body. Most of the time, our minds are wandering — we’re thinking about the future, dwelling on the past, worrying, fantasizing, fretting or daydreaming. Mindfulness brings us back to the present moment, and gives us the tools we need to be less stressed, calmer and kinder to ourselves and others. Mindfulness Wexford offers courses, day long retreats, corporate training and The MBSR Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction 8 wk course (the Internationally recognised Gold Standard of mindfulness training.) What is the MBSR 8-week course? The Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) 8-week course uses a combination of mindfulness skills including, meditation, body awareness, mindful yoga / movement, mindful communication, awareness of emotions, and regulation of stress triggers and reactions, to assist people coping with Stress related to pain, anxiety, overwhelm, burnout and a range of life issues. It’s a specific 8-week program that focuses upon the progressive acquisition of mindful awareness through meditation and body exercises. For over 30 years, Una has been designing educational programmes for organisations and institutions, from hospitals to prisons, county council offices to wellness centers. This has included 15 years designing programmes for the Irish Museum of Modern Art. She is a highly experienced facilitator & educator. Her work spans the fields of Health, Education and the Arts. Una is a fully qualified, highly experienced professional MBSR Mindfulness Stress Reduction Instructor. She is an approved Mindfulness Instructor with the HSE (Irish Health Service Executive). She is a member of the MTAI (Mindfulness Teachers Association of Ireland), and adheres to The Irish Good Practice Guidelines for Teaching Mindfulness-Based Courses. Una is a trained MBSR Mindfulness Instructor with the Institute for Mindfulness Based Approaches, IMA Germany.

A recent study published in JAMA Psychiatry showed that people who received eight weeks of mindfulness-based interventions experienced a decrease in anxiety that matched those who were prescribed escitalopram, a common anti-anxiety medication that is often prescribed under the brand name Lexapro.

This page is an educational resource for all those interested in the skills of Mindfulness. It is run by HSE approved MBSR Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Instructor Una Keeley. Una offers Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Courses in County Wexford, and throughout the East Coast and South-East of Ireland.

Mindfulness Wexford is a unique educational & training resource, set up to design and deliver high quality mindfulness workshops, courses, retreats and educational programs. Programmes are designed to introduce participants to the practice of mindfulness, with a unique emphasis on its ability to enhance ‘Creative Response’. Workshops are experiential with practical applications within daily life and the workplace. Participants are taught highly effective life skills for de-stressing and handling challenging situations. Our moto is "Approach Mindfully and Respond Creatively".

Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment with openness and curiosity. It has a variety of research-backed impacts, including reduction in stress, and improvements in job satisfaction, emotional regulation, and focus.

Una Keeley designs and delivers courses for the Corporate Market, Small & Medium Enterprises, Wellness Centres, Arts Institutions, Educational Centres and Retreat Centres.
