Starting solids is an exciting (messy!) milestone, but for many parents it can also feel overwhelming. Questions about readiness, choking, allergies and whether you’re “doing it right” are incredibly common.
This in-person morning workshop is designed to help you feel calm, confident and well prepared as you begin your baby’s weaning journey. Led by Emma Lewis, Children’s & General Nurse and Midwife, the session offers practical, evidence-based guidance in a warm, supportive environment.
We will cover
how to know if your baby is truly ready for solids,
the different weaning approaches and how to choose what suits your baby,
as well as nutrition and allergies — focusing on what actually matters.
A significant part of the workshop is dedicated to gagging versus choking, helping you understand the difference and know exactly what to do if a baby chokes.
Infant CPR basics are also included, giving you added confidence and peace of mind.
This workshop is ideal for parents of babies aged 4–8 months who are preparing to start solids or are in the very early stages of weaning. Babies in arms are very welcome.
You don’t need to have it all figured out — this workshop is here to support you, answer your questions, and help you feel ready to take the next step with confidence.
