Body Centering Pilates Body Centering Pilates draws together three areas of expertise: Pilates, Body Mind Centering and Laban Movement Analysis.

Mags trained in Pilates with the Body Control Pilates Association (UK), she studied Body Mind Centering in Amsterdam with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, and Laban Movement Analysis with Joan Russell. This unique fusion of disciplines has proven to be highly successful. Body Centering Pilates raises body awarness and balances muscles. The information exchange between the body and the mind develops a fresh attitude to the body. Body Centering Pilates improves core strength, concentration, and strengthens, elongates and balances muscles. It's overall effect is calming and leads to the efficient use of the body's systems. Mags is a qualified university lecturer in Dance and Communication Studies (Universities of Lancaster and Greenwich). Certified in Pilates Matwork (Advanced), Reformer machine work and Back Care (Back4good certified practitioner), Mags also supervises students training with the Body Control Pilates Academy. Mags Clark-Smith is a member of REPs (Register of Exercise Professionals) Level 4, No: R0033350. Mags is committed to maintaining the highest standard of Pilates instruction and continues to undertake regular professional development. Mags trained in Body Control Pilates as part of her PhD research in 2000, she has always specialised in individual sessions and has drawn on her extensive knowledge of the body through dance and body mind centering experience to enable people to fulfill their potential physically. Mags opened her own studio in 2004 and teaches regular beginner, intermediate and advanced classes each week in addition to her individual sessions. She supervises Pilates Students and continues to lecture and specialise in research relevant to Pilates and Body Mind Centering.
