We have had the majority of staff results back which have all shown as negative for Covid-19. We have been assured by Public Health Dept that we will be tested on a regular basis with the next swab test due in the next couple of weeks. We have also been assured that the system of testing and reporting has improved considerably and that the next test will result in a quicker time frame for results. We remain hopeful on this reassurance from the Public Health Dept.

We remain in good spirits here although of course we miss all of our
visitors. We have introduced extra Activity staff and have been working
tirelessly to ensure that our Residents are entertained and kept
distracted from the current reality.

Greetings from all of us. Thankfully we remain Covid-19
Free. As we were one of the first nursing homes to be tested under new guidance, the Public Health Dept have explained that efficient
systems were not quite set up at that time on how to relay results back to us as a
group. This has resulted in us receiving results in a piece meal
basis. Public Health Dept have verbally confirmed to us on 5th May that all of our residents have tested as NEGATIVE for Covid-19.

All is well and we thankfully remain Covid - 19 free. Further to updated HSE Guidelines with regard to testing at Long Term Care Facilities. All Residents and Staff are being tested as a precautionary measure today 22nd April at YDNH. We have been told that these tests will be Prioritised and we will hopefully have the results in 2 or 3 days. We will of course update you as we receive information. Thank you once again for your understanding during this challenging time.

From all the staff, a very special thank you to all those wonderful people who have dropped off masks and goggles at our front door. It is really appreciated.
If anybody else wants to do similar, it is really simple, just leave your masks, goggles, gloves or aprons at the front door, there is no need to come in. Alternatively you can phone Y&DNH on 024 90280 and we can arrange a pick-up from you. No amount is considered too small, or too large.

Thank you to you all for your patience and understanding at this time.

As you are aware the threat of Covid-19 remains. To that effect, visiting restrictions remain in place until further notice.

You will be notified if there are any changes in your loved one’s condition.

All is well in the nursing home and we are keeping the resident’s spirits up.

We will keep in touch as needed.

We again, thank people for their understanding and patience during this period of unprecedented challenges presented by Covid19.

Visitor Restrictions announced by Nursing Homes Ireland
6th March 2020: For the protection of nursing home residents, Nursing Homes Ireland has confirmed that visiting restrictions are now in place in nursing homes nationwide. No non-essential visiting, children or groups will be allowed.
All visitors are asked to contact prior to attending. Visitors should only seek to attend in urgent circumstances and the management reserve the right to impose full restrictions where necessary.
We urge prospective visitors to nursing homes to be cognisant and understanding of the measure that is required in the interest of resident and staff safety. Older people and people in nursing homes with pre-existing medical conditions are particularly vulnerable if they contact the virus. The virus presents an unprecedented situation for our nursing homes and the care provided within them. Nursing homes are imposing the visitor restrictions in the best interests of residents and staff. We thank people for their understanding and patience during this period of unprecedent challenges presented by Covid19.
Nursing Homes Ireland is monitoring the evolving situation on an ongoing basis and is in continuous contact with the Department of Health, National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET), HSE and all relevant health authorities.
