🍎🍯 Shana Tova from all of us at Avnei Chein! ✨

As we enter the new year, we hold onto hope—for healing, for resilience, and for a future where no one faces mental health struggles alone.

Your support helps us bring comfort and strength to individuals and families in crisis, turning moments of despair into steps toward renewal.

May this year be one of sweetness, health, and peace—for you, your loved ones, and for all of Am Yisrael. ❤️

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day

In Israel, the human cost of mental health struggles is real and heartbreaking: approximately 500 people die by su***de each year, and there are around 6,000 su***de attempts annually.

At Chein, we believe no one should endure despair alone. Every call answered, every family supported, and every moment spent truly listening can mean the difference between isolation and hope.

✨ Together, we can break the silence.
✨ Together, we can extend a hand.
✨ Together, we can save lives.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out. Help is here. You are not alone.

What PTSD Looks Like in Israel Right Now

Since October 7th, trauma has rewired our nation.

Yes for soldiers.
Yes for victims.
Yes, everyone.

Family members, children, caregivers, and bystanders are all absorbing trauma in different ways.

💔 Flinching at the sound of an ambulance, or even a door slamming. Sirens live in their bones.
💔 Trapped in fight-or-flight mode. Just locked in survival.
💔 Exhaustion. Anxiety. Depression. Not always visible, but always there.

In the U.S., PTSD is considered an outlier.
In Israel? It’s a baseline.

1 in 3 Israelis is either suffering from or at high risk for PTSD.

We need to recognize the signs, talk about what we’re seeing, and show up for ourselves, our families, and this country, still learning how to breathe again.

Avnei Chein - Mental Health Crisis Support

The mental health “system” and related services create a confusing and bureaucratic black hole. The services are disconnected from each other, leaving the public without a clear navigation path to healing.

There is an enormous knowledge gap regarding the availability of services, the needs and rights of people suffering in a moment of crisis and the needs and rights of their families.

Our goal is to create a service that will advocate, guide, and accompany clients and families through the initial dark moments of crisis to the point where they can survive and flourish independently.
