👶🧠 Denmark is moving away from the “cry it out” sleep training method, largely due to pressure from over 700 psychologists who signed an open letter citing harm to infant emotional development, leading the Danish board to reconsider its guidance, emphasizing responsive care and secure attachment as healthier alternatives.

Studies find consistently ignoring a crying baby can negatively impact their brain development, increase stress hormones like cortisol and can even affect their future emotional health.

Babies communicate their needs by crying, and ignoring these cries can lead to prolonged periods of stress, causing a rise in cortisol levels. Elevated cortisol levels can negatively impact brain development, brain structure and a baby’s ability to regulate stress even later in life.

Consistent responsiveness to a baby’s cries helps them develop a sense of security and trust in their caregivers. This can lead to a more secure attachment, which is crucial for emotional well-being, healthy social relationships and brain development.

Babies are not trying to manipulate their parents when they cry, they are communicating their needs and attempting to establish a connection. Responding to these cries is critical for building a strong bond and promoting healthy development.

What are your thoughts on this shift in parenting advice? How have you seen these approaches discussed in your own community?

Mistakes feel scary.
For kids. For adults. For business owners too 😊

What I see every day is this:
When fear takes over, thinking shuts down.
That’s why we don’t chase perfection.

We practice calming down, trying again, and continuing—even when it’s messy.

Because growth doesn’t come from getting it right.
It comes from getting back up.

Confidence grows when a child feels safe to be herself.

If your 9-10, year, old daughter is a kind, sensitive, or bright child, but she:
has difficulty finding her place socially
gets very overwhelmed in groups
loses confidence more than you would normally expect

She does not need to learn “social skills”, nor does she need fixing. She needs a place where she feels safe, is understood, can build her confidence and feels accepted first.

At Neuro, Fun, I am opening again a small and intimate group where your daughter can:

naturally build confidence
practice communication in real, fun, and creative ways
develop emotional awareness through games, art, and talking
get the experience of being truly seen in a group of just 4 girls
and enjoy herself.

It is not about correcting behavior.
It is about providing support to the whole child. Brain, body, emotions, and nervous system so social skills can develop in a natural way.

Supporting your child's liver does not immediately mean huge changes.
Small swaps make the BIGGEST difference.

Before giving donuts or latkes, try adding:
A handful of greens
A squeeze of lemon
A pear or apple
Grated carrots

These foods help bile flow, keep digestion moving, and reduce meltdowns later.

This is not about restriction. Not about denying foods. This is about BALANCE.
Kids can absolutely enjoy Hanukkah -
and still feel good after. And then.....so will you.

Why Your Child Gets Emotional After Hanukkah Foods (And It’s Not What You Think)

During Hanukkah, many parents notice the same thing:
Their child becomes more sensitive, more reactive, or overwhelmed by the smallest thing.

And we assume it’s “holiday excitement”
… or overstimulation
… or just “being difficult.”

But here’s the part nobody talks about:

A child’s liver and emotions are deeply connected.
When the liver gets overloaded by oily holiday foods, sugar, late nights, and excitement, kids don’t say:
“Imma, my liver is struggling today.”

They show you through their feelings.

You may see:
1 tears that come quicker
2 frustration over tiny things
3 noise sensitivity
4 emotional ups and downs
5 “too much” moments

This isn’t misbehavior.
This isn’t attitude.
This isn’t defiance.

It’s their body working overtime.

But you can help them:
Warm foods.
Lemon water.
Gentle routines and quiet time.

Their emotions are not the enemy.
They’re communication. It is their body's way of asking for help.

Every year children look forward to Hanukkah. It is one of the holidays that is anticipated by old and young, and the many stores that start selling sufganiyot weeks ahead. The lights, the songs, the get-togethers, the food….a busy and joyful time for many.

But for some children, this holiday also brings big emotions, tummy aches, and unexpected meltdowns that seem to appear out of nowhere. Especially when the child has had a wonderful time not that long before.

And here’s the part we don’t talk about enough:
Holiday oil can be really hard for kids to digest.
Their livers work overtime.
And when the liver struggles… emotions struggle too.
Not because they’re “acting out.”
Not because you’re doing anything wrong.
But because their body is asking for help in the only language it has; behavior.

If your child becomes more irritable, foggy, bloated, or sensitive this time of year…
please know:
You’re not alone.
You’re not imagining it.
And there are gentle, supportive ways to help.

Hanukkah is a time of light, and understanding your child’s body is one of the greatest gifts you can give them.

If this resonates, and you want clarity on what your child’s symptoms really mean…
Follow me.

Let’s look beneath the surface, together, to help your child feel calmer, clearer, and more at home in their own body this holiday season.

You know what made me happy today?

A mom calling me to say her child has lice… and asking if it’s okay to postpone their first session so she can treat it first.

And honestly, that care, that awareness, it touched me.
Especially because I could guide her to treat the lice naturally for her sensitive child with ADHD symptoms.

Even though most conventional lice treatments are considered “safe”…
Why add more toxic load to children who already:
• Work harder to learn
• Work harder to regulate
• React quickly to chemicals
• And are already so often misunderstood

Let’s not make it harder for their nervous systems when gentler options exist.

If you’d like my free natural lice treatment guide, comment LICE and I’ll send it to you with love 💚
Always happy to help parents protect their children, inside and out.

You've seen the reel detailing the highly-processed nature of snacks like Doritos—the multitude of artificial ingredients, colors, and refined oils.

But what does that chemical cocktail actually do inside your child's body and brain?

The science is clear: highly processed food is a major driver of chronic, low-grade inflammation.

How This Inflammation Harms Learning & Behavior?

Disrupted Focus: Inflammation can interfere with neurotransmitter function, making it extremely difficult for children to sustain attention, leading to misdiagnosis or worsening of attention-deficit behaviors.

Mood Instability: The gut-brain axis is crucial. Inflammation that starts in the gut can travel to the brain, contributing to irritability, anxiety, and unexplained mood swings that complicate daily life and social interactions.

Energy Drain: When the body is perpetually dealing with inflammatory triggers from food, it has less energy for critical cognitive tasks, making homework and complex thinking feel exhausting.

It’s not about perfection, but awareness. Every time your child eats a chip, they are not just consuming calories; they are potentially setting off a systemic inflammatory response that directly impacts their ability to learn, behave calmly, and thrive.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Start small. Swap out one processed snack a day for whole foods like fruit, nuts, or homemade popcorn.

Share your thoughts: What is your family's biggest struggle when it comes to cutting back on processed snacks? Let's help each other out!

STOP. You’re treating your child’s anxiety… completely WRONG.

Most parents try to treat the fear, the meltdowns, the panic.
But those are just the symptoms — the visible part of a much deeper story.

Let me tell you about Alex.
A bright, funny kid who focused on tiny details but missed the whole picture.
His brain kept coming to the wrong conclusions, and his anxiety was THROUGH THE ROOF.

But the anxiety… wasn’t the issue.

He had a physical disconnect in how he took in the world — visual and auditory processing challenges. He was literally missing information.

No wonder he felt unsafe.

So instead of treating the label, we looked under the surface:
✔ nervous system
✔ nourishment
✔ sensory processing
✔ physical strategies for eyes + ears

And slowly, his world made sense again.
And when a child’s world makes sense… anxiety fades.

Parents, you are not failing.
You just need the whole picture.

If you’re a busy parent and you’re done treating symptoms…
I help families like yours uncover what’s really driving the struggle.
