yes! yes! yes! all of this. this is what I did for myself in those first few moments of injury and beyond. it was using all the stuff that I "made up" in recovery, teaching myself, that led me to yoga teacher training and life coaching certification.
shelly says "right after an injury the body starts the stages of healing." I suggest that the injury itself is the beginning of healing. that there is inner-imbalance, and injury is that internal dis-harmony coming to the surface and our conscious awareness. after all, the person who is most sick is the one who does not know they're sick. once we are aware we can begin to fix and heal.
shelly also asks: "why couldn't therapy start immidiately?" your body's self-healing *is* activated immidiately and you can create a supportive environment for yourself for your healing - both an internal environment in your thoughts and language and externally.
