"Just days after October 7, the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture warned that 70 percent of Israel’s tomato crops – inside some 4,000 acres of greenhouses in the south – could go unharvested.

And while many Israelis have answered the call to help bring in the harvest, there are simply not enough hands to gather all the crops.

But Metomotion says its Greenhouse Robotic Worker (GRoW) device can do the job, using artificial intelligence and 3D imaging to autonomously identify and pick just the ripe tomatoes."

Stepping up to the challenge, both the tech of Metomotion in addressing the shortage of workers (a worldwide problem, not unique to Israel), coupled with the amazing resilience of the agriculturalists in Israel's south, who despite all odds and personall tragedies, are rebuilding stronger and better than ever before.

Limaca Medical announced today that its Precision GI™ Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) Biopsy Device received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”). This follows Limaca’s receipt of FDA Breakthrough Device Designation for its Precision GI™.

This may sound like a minor fine-tuning of capital and management resources -- but Chairman Steve Rhodes' elaboration this week on a H1 2023 earnings call provides a deeper insight:
"I don't think you can imagine how much time and effort and capital are required to start new companies. It's not a minor issue. We were reviewing more than 600 opportunities a year. Narrowing that down -- it's a long complicated process and then bringing those companies into the shop where we provided significant capital and significant management timing and resources. Today, all of the capital, all of that management time has been freed up to focus on our existing portfolio companies and focus on getting to exits."
