Spinal Flex – releases blocked emotions stored in respective organs

Spinal Flex is a great palate cleanser in between poses. It unblocks and creates a flexibility of the spine which relates to a flexible mind and is responsible for the nervous system. It is a conduit for cerebrospinal fluid, and spinal flex helps clear the passage so that oxygen more easily can be sent to the organs.

As you sit in easy pose or rock pose, inhale and rock the pelvis forward and as you exhale you round the lower back and rock the pelvis back. Focus on expanding your chest. You can close your eyes and focus on either your third eye or your heart.

Spinal Flex:

✔️ Is important for healthy organs and for releasing blocked emotions stored in respective organs.
✔️ Releases sacroiliac compression
✔️ Releases lower back pain
✔️ Can alleviate sciatica
✔️ Opens the reproductive organs
✔️ Helps menstrual and menopausal problems

Variations:

✔️ When sitting in easy pose hands can also be placed on the ankles and can be used to deepen the movement of the pelvis and spine.
✔️ Can be done in Rock Pose with hands on the knees (alternatively with a pillow under your bum or padding under the feet for more comfort)

Downward Facing Dog (Adhomukha Svanasana) with one leg up

Downward Facing Dog or Triangle Pose is such a strengthening pose and restorative at the same time. It builds flexibility and with enough practice it helps you to breath and restore between postures.

It works on a lot of muscles in the body and:
 Builds strength in the upper body
 Stretches the hamstrings, back of the legs and back
muscles which increases strength and flexibility of the
spine which is great for organ health
 Creates space in the chest, neck and shoulders
 Increases alertness

Variations: You can place the elbows on the floor in dolphin pose or come down on your knees if there are wrist problems.

Contraindications:
• Headaches
• Back Issues
• Shoulder problems
• Wrist problems or Carpal tunnel syndrome
• Glaucoma
• High blood pressure
• Should not be done in late pregnancy
