Dr Olivier Gerbault, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Paris, France, has been focusing on rhinoplasty since 2000 and is currently working on the use of ligaments for aesthetic and functional rhinoplasty.

He has conceptualized ultrasonic rhinoplasty, since 2013, by designing a set of piezoelectric instruments (PEI) for rhinoplasty, describing the full open approach in rhinoplasty, and developing new concepts and techniques in bony vault reshaping. He also developed PEI for closed ultrasonic rhinoplasty, ultrasonic septoplasty and dorsal preservation techniques.

Dr Gerbault is a member of the Rhinoplasty Society of Europe and has co-founded the International Rhinoplasty Research Society (IRRS).

Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr Pietro Palma, will be delivering seven insightful presentations during IAFPRS 2022, one of which is titled "Making Up a Rhinoplasty Business. Company of One: My Story".

Pietro has co-authored two textbooks, authored several chapters in international textbooks and is the co-editor of Rhinoplasty Archive. He is a past president of the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies, the EAFPS - The European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and the Italian Society of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies and has been invited to lecture and operate in courses and meetings all over the world.

Dr Oren Friedman is one of only a few surgeons in the United States who are board-certified in both facial plastic surgery and otolaryngology-head and neck surgery.

Prior to joining Penn Medicine, Dr Friedman served as director of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He has received numerous awards including being recognized as a “Top Doc” by U.S. News & World Report and Philadelphia Magazine.

During IAFPRS 2022, Dr Friedman will present on the following topics:

IAFPRS 2022 invited speaker, Dr Neil Gordon, is one of the early pioneers of the Deep Plane Facelift. He advanced this technique by developing the Vertical Platysma Advancement.

His extensive experience in revision rhytidectomy was recognized in W Magazine in which he was named “the Revisionist”, for his ability to restore a natural look to an overstretched, overdone face. He is one of a select few surgeons to achieve double board certification by both the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) and the American Board of Otolaryngology.

Dr Gordon practices from The Retreat at Split Rock in Connecticut and his offices in New York City.

Because of the significance of his research on patient safety, in 2005 Dr Gordon was asked to be the founding Chairman of the critically important Committee on Patient Safety, Quality Assurance, and Accreditation for The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and remains Senior Advisor to the current Chairman.

Dr Cameron McIntosh, the founding president of the Society of Rhinoplasty Surgeons of South Africa (Sorssa), travels extensively to improve his skills and share them with others.

Prof Tom D. Wang is the director of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Oregon Health and Science University in the United States, where he has performed over 10,000 procedures since 1993.

Dr Wang is the past president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) and his area of expertise include:

• rhinoplasty (cosmetic and functional nasal surgery),
• rhytidectomy (face- and necklift, browlift)
