A meaningful chapter has come to an end. After two terms and six years of service, I have completed my role as President of the European Traditional Chinese Medicine Association.

These years have been an extraordinary journey of collaboration, vision and shared commitment to strengthening Chinese medicine in Europe.

Leadership is only a chapter. It is now time to pass the torch to Ricardo Teixeira and the Executive Committee — Gretha Wouda-Krist, Susan Evans, Adrianne Waldt, Benjamin Saez, Caoimhe McGlinchey and Paulina Kryszkiewicz — confident that the path we built together will continue to grow and serve our profession and the healing it brings to humanity.

During this transition I was deeply touched to receive Lifetime Honorary Membership from ETCMA, as well as Honorary Membership from the Polish Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (PTTMC). I accept these recognitions with gratitude on behalf of the many colleagues who walked this path together.

I remain deeply grateful for the trust, the friendships and the shared work dedicated to advancing Chinese medicine in Europe and beyond.

With deep sadness, I share the news of the passing of Mark Bovey.

Mark was not only a remarkable colleague but a truly special human being. I had the privilege of working closely with him over the last three years on our book, “Evidence-Based Oncology Acupuncture,” which we were fortunate to finish just in time. It now feels like a part of his legacy.

I visited Mark just a month ago (photo attached), spending meaningful time with him in his home during his illness. I brought him a pre-launch copy of the book, and even in those difficult moments, his humility, warmth, and gentle clarity touched me deeply. That meeting will stay with me forever.
He has left us far too soon.

May his memory be a blessing.

November 16 A Special Day at UNESCO

November 16 marks Acupuncture Awareness Day, the date when UNESCO recognized acupuncture as a World Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity—affirming it as a treasure of healing wisdom for all humanity.
In honor of this recognition, I was invited to present my herbal cancer research at UNESCO in Paris.

My work reflects a long-standing vision: to improve the lives of cancer patients through better prevention, care, and quality of life.
Traditional Chinese Medicine offers meaningful, evidence-based solutions, and continued research is essential. Our formulas have been used for over 20 years with promising results, and I hope this pioneering work will pave the way for further integrative oncology research worldwide.

What a special moment to meet again with Prof. David Rosenthal, my mentor and inspiration to pursue research a true pioneer in hemoncology.
It was also wonderful to share a workshop together with Suzan Veleber, Weidong Lu, Iris Zhi, and Libin Jia.

What a gift when a dream becomes reality.
Sharing the passion of oncology acupuncture at the SIO Conference at Harvard Medical School felt like a milestone on this journey.

One of the most moving moments was hearing an oncologist stand up and share: “My life was saved by acupuncture.”
She spoke about how acupuncture helped her recover from declining kidney function during treatment — a story of hope that touched everyone in the room.

These are the moments that remind me why we do what we do.
Bridging science, compassion, and healing — and bringing Integrative Oncology forward for patients who need every ray of support.

🙏 Grateful for this community and inspired for the future.

What to do when you don’t know what to do —
That was the title of my lecture, which began by interviewing 20 practitioners on how they navigate uncertainty in their clinical work.

Thank you to for capturing and sharing these moments from the Polish TCM Association’s special Congress in Krakow last weekend. It was a joy to reconnect, learn, and share this talk once again — this time with such a vibrant and dedicated community.

I feel very honored to receive an Honorary Membership in the Polish TCM Association, presented during the inspiring congress in Krakow.

Over the years, I have deeply appreciated our collaboration and their dedicated work with the authorities to advance TCM in Poland.
