🤟 You've probably heard of the term 'splint' being thrown around. But what exactly is a splint?
💪 A splint is a type of immobilization device that is often used to stop a joint (or multiple joints) from being moved.
🤲 There are many reasons why you may need to wear one of these. In the case of Trigger Finger, wearing a splint is recommended to prevent motion at the joint which is causing the 'trigger' - the 'clicking' or 'popping' sensation you feel when straightening your finger.
👩⚕️There are a few types of splints you can wear. Your hand therapist may recommend you to wear a splint for the day and also at night! You can see Regina making a day splint here on our Instagram:

🏋️ A splint is used alongside exercises to help heal the injury and is usually not used as a stand-alone treatment.
