Therapy with Adir

Therapy with Adir My name is Adir and I am a therapist in Tel Aviv. I am thrilled to be back in Israel and look forward to meeting you.

As a native English speaker, I am working with individuals who could benefit from full expression in their mother tongue. I hold a Masters in Clinical Social Work from the Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work in NYC where I delved extensively into CBT and DBT styles of therapy, along with therapy in the arts and spirituality and healing in modern human service work.

I will be starting to take on new clients for in-person sessions in Zichron Ya'akov as of next week! I look forward to connecting with the beautiful community here.
(My practice in Tel Aviv is still fully active as well.)

As the world gets back to “normal,” much of the inner turmoil that bubbled to the surface of our consciousness has remained.

It is often hard to make sense of our negative thoughts, lack of boundaries, and feelings of self doubt - especially when we are aware of the suffering they cause.
This journey of awareness - separating from this pain and becoming your authentic self is a journey of growth and self healing. It is not easy, and it is usually not fast - but it is absolutely possible and you deserve it. We all deserve it… just like we all deserve a massage or day off from work to get our lives in order.

I am an English speaking psychotherapist in Tel Aviv, guiding individuals through their unique journey towards balance and inner peace through the use and comfort of their mother tongues.

Currently, I am working with a wide range of individuals at The Clinic at Therapy Tel Aviv, a beautiful space located Levontin 12.

** I am adding a day at the clinic to my schedule which will open up more spaces on my caseload. It would be an honor and privilege to connect with you.

Send me an email me at therapytlv@gmail.com and we can find time for a short phone consultation see if it is the right fit. I am also happy to refer people who may benefit from different kind of guidance to other healers in my network.

THE CLINIC'S PRACTITIONERS

Meet: Adir Cohen, MSW

Adir is a psychotherapist, originally from Israel, but grew up in the United States.

He specializes in working with Olim Chadashim who would benefit from a full expression in their mother tongue. Additionally, Adir’s speciality includes development of emotional regulation and mindfulness, weight loss and reconnecting with the body, relationship therapy, spiritual and cultural identity, exploration and confrontation of childhood trauma, depression and anxiety.

Adir’s "why" for doing what he does: “In a world as loud as ours, it can be difficult to remain grounded – connected to your deepest self and the people and things that better you. Everyone deserves the experience of balance, calm and purpose in this one life, and now more than ever is a time to explore how to get closer to that place. I am grateful for the opportunity to help people on their journey.”

Depression and anxiety in these days of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic can be understood as realistic and natural reactions to the wide range of changes we have all been going through.

Whether it is the loss of connection with other people, or the loss of work that gave purpose and meaning to your days - such drastic shifts of falling out can embolden underlying issues a person has, slowly transforming into emotional turmoil that is overwhelming.

These times have also given us room to analyze our values and whether or not we are truly living the lives we want to live. This can be terrifying to say the least. We have been forced to look at our hopes and fears for the future - a difficult process which calls for clarity of the mind and spirit, which might feel untouchable for some at this time.

To make order of our emotions, thoughts, beliefs and values in order to be fully present in the moment is work. It is work we do in the Now to positively impact how the rest of our lives play out in the inevitable future.... the paths we choose, the relationships we build, the goals we try for, how we treat our bodies and how we love ourselves. It is a process one needs to be active in and not passive. It is a process that is easy to put off or ignore. Yet time continues to push forward, and the longer one walks down their cave of disorder, depression and despair, the harder it becomes to find the way out.

It is easy to push people you love towards finding help when they need it - all while ignoring your own needs for mental, spiritual and emotional clarity. Don't forget how much you deserve it.

As an English speaking psychotherapist in Tel Aviv, I am here to aid individuals through their unique journey towards balance and inner peace through the use and comfort of their mother tongues.
I am currently working with individuals at The Clinic at Therapy Tel Aviv, a beautiful space located at Levontin 12. There are a few time slots for therapeutic sessions still available in my schedule. It would be a privilege to connect with you.
