זוכרים ומוקירים

יש רגעים שבהם הכול מזדקק לכדי תובנה אחת, רגע שבו כל השנים, כל הלילות הארוכים, כל העבודה, המחקר וההתמדה, מתחברים למשהו אחד. משמעותי.
כשעמדתי השבוע על הבמה בטורונטו, בכנס השנתי ה-111 של ה AAP מול אלפי רופאים ומומחים מכל רחבי העולם – ידעתי שאני לא עומדת שם לבד.

עמדו איתי כל המטופלים ששמעו במהלך השנים את המילים "אי אפשר", "מסובך מדי" ,"אין פתרון". לא חשבתי על פרוטוקולים, לא על דיאגרמות או מצגות מורכבות, חשבתי עליהם.
בחרתי להביא איתי את הסיפורים שלהם: את הכאב, את התקווה, ובעיקר את האמונה שתמיד יש דרך.
במהלך ההרצאות הצגתי את הגישה החדשנית שפיתחתי לטיפול במקרים מורכבים של ספיגת עצם ואטרופיה לסתית Treatment options for the Posterior Atrophic Maxilla
גישה המשנה את גבולות האפשר בכירורגיה של שתלים דנטליים בלסת האחורית העליונה, ומעניקה מענה אמיתי למטופלים שבעבר נאמר להם שאין פתרון.
ובהרצאה השנייה שהייתה חלק מסימפוזיום נרחב בנושא: טיפולים כירורגים במטופלים/ות הסובלים מאוסטאופורוזיס, המקבלים תרופות למניעת "בריחת עצם" (Invasive oral procedure treatment concept In patients treated with denosumab).
הוצגו גישות הנשענות על מחקרים, על הבנה ביולוגית של תהליכי ריפוי ופרמקו-קינטיקה של התרופות ותהליכי הריפוי וכן על ניסיון קליני רב שנים, אבל מעל הכול, היא נשענת על הקשבה לאדם שמאחורי המקרה הרפואי.
מבחינתי, כל מטופל הוא לא רק אתגר רפואי, הוא סיפור חיים שראוי להזדמנות חדשה.
ועל הבמה הזו, מול עולם שלם של רפואה מתקדמת, אמרתי בקול אחד ברור:
יש דרך. תמיד יש דרך.

There are moments when everything crystallizes into a single realization, a moment when all the years, the long nights, the work, the research, and the perseverance come together into one meaningful whole.
As I stood this week on stage in Toronto, at the 111th Annual Meeting of the AAP, facing thousands of doctors and specialists from around the world, I knew I was not standing there alone.
With me stood all the patients who, over the years, heard the words “it’s impossible,” “too complicated,” “there’s no solution.” I wasn’t thinking about protocols, diagrams, or complex presentations; I was thinking about them.
I chose to bring their stories with me: their pain, their hope, and above all, the belief that there is always a way.
During my lectures, I presented the innovative approach I developed for treating complex cases of bone resorption and maxillary atrophy
“Treatment Options for the Posterior Atrophic Maxilla.”
This approach redefines what’s possible in implant surgery for the posterior maxilla, offering real solutions for patients who were once told there were none.
In my second lecture, part of an extensive symposium on surgical treatments for patients suffering from osteoporosis and receiving antiresorptive therapy
“Invasive Oral Procedure Treatment Concept in Patients Treated with Denosumab,”
I presented treatment concepts based on research, biological understanding of healing processes, pharmacokinetics of medications, and extensive clinical experience.
But above all, this approach is rooted in listening truly listening to the person behind the medical case.
To me, every patient is not just a clinical challenge, but a life story that deserves a new chance.
And on that stage, before a world of advanced medicine, I said clearly and with conviction:
There is a way. There is always a way.

כשאני מניחה את הכלים הכירורגיים ברגעי השקט הנדירים שבין ניתוח לניתוח, אני עוצרת לנשום ולהביט על השנה שחלפה. השנה הזו הייתה מאתגרת במיוחד, רצופה בעשייה אך גם ברגעים עצובים וכואבים. בחרתי להפוך את האתגרים לדלק לצמיחה, לחדשנות ולהתחדשות, ולהמשיך קדימה מתוך שליחות עמוקה.
בכל החלטה, הקפדתי על דיוק בכל פרט ושמירה על סטנדרט רפואי גבוה, מתוך הבנה שכל בחירה נוגעת ישירות בחייכם – מטופלים יקרים שלי.
זכיתי להכיר את האדם שמעבר לטיפול, להקשיב לסיפורי חיים, לפגוש פחדים ותקוות וללוות כל אחד ואחת מכם/ן מתוך רגישות וחמלה אמיתית.

When I lay down the surgical instruments in those rare quiet moments between operations, I pause to breathe and reflect on the year that has passed.
