: National Talent Search Exam or National Science Talent Search Scheme was launched in 1963 by NCERT with an aim to identifying the talented students and grant them with scholarship to pursue their further education.
The NTSE exam is a two-tier/stage exam where candidates are tested for their Mental, Language and Scholastic abilities. The stage 1 exam of NTSE is conducted by the respective state or UT only and the stage 2 exam is conducted by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The candidates who are shortlisted through this two-tiered examination are awarded as many as 1000 scholarships every year. Only Class X students are eligible to appear for NTSE.

Every year when students make up a gear shift to class 11, they are bit confused in selecting there books and study material to follow.I am just trying to resolve some of there questions.

I can suggest you some good books that might help you.

Physics : D.C. Pandey, it has ample of questions and sufficient formulas to understand the concepts. It has different kinds of questions like subjective, objective (different levels) etc. If you feel it has easy questions (which I doubt you will feel) then you can start solving I.E. Irodov , but make sure you don’t start solving all the questions in it because many questions require concepts which are beyond Jee syllabus. Another good book for theory (it will have mostly all kinds of concepts and applications) and questions is B.M. Sharma of Cengage Publication.
Mathematics : Go for Cengage Publication books, G.Tewani. It has mostly all the formulas needed and the question bank is huge (and also contains variety and different levels of questions).
Chemistry: There are three books, 1 each for Physical, Inorganic and Organic. These books contain only questions, you will have to refer to some other book or notes for Theory.
Inorganic : N Awasthi
Physical : V.K. Jaiswal
Organic : M.S. Chauhan (you can also buy Himanshu Pandey but I have heard that it has more exceptional reactions which you would just have to know before answering)
One last book that you should definitely add is the one which contains previous year question papers of IITJEE.

But prefer your coaching modules over them because teacher who are taking your classes are following same.
You can use above mentioned books after material provided by your mentors.

I am answering a common concern of parents that Why to start jee preparation at early stages?

You should join the coaching center in the early years for a better results and good grip over jee syllabus , NTSE,OLYMPIADS.
As you all must know that these chapters force, pressure,friction ,sound and many more were also in jee syllabus,coaching classes will teach you along with jee difficulty so will have better understanding over question patterns.
More than that you are bound yourself with a circle of proper system and guidance around yourself for accurate development.
In genaral schooling system, development only done to deal with subjective problems but as today we know almost 99% of competition exams are based on objective approach only,so it is as equally important after having ideal knowledge also.

You know why many of the JEE aspirants spend their 2 or 3 years to prepare for JEE and still don’t qualify for it?

The answer is that many of them keep on postponing their studies and finally they are left with these situations of ONE NIGHT FIGHT. JEE or any other exam genuinely requires dedication and hard work, not for hours or days, but for months and years.

Sleepless nights, dedication, hard work, facing failure and still keep on working and moving towards the goal step by step is what molds a person to become an IITian.

So if you or anybody is considering JEE as a matter of a night, it is true, but only if you have the exam paper before hand.

JEE ADV 2017 RANK VS MARKS

I agree that JEE ADV 2017 is one of the easiest papers in the recent past. Considering the fact that the pattern was the same and the quality of questions and the max. negative mark one could get (-31.7%)
2016 (-32.7%)
2014 (-19%)
2013 (-19%)
2011(-13%)
(And thus you see the cutoff raising rapidly which was unusually high with 10000th ranker getting 47.3%) There is a correlation between the max.negative marks one could get with the 10000th ranker. I have predicted result of the expected MARKS VS RANK, i have gone through previous years data and all my results are based on the input i have received from media about this years paper and previous year statistics.

RANK 50–290

RANK 100–278

RANK 500–246

RANK 1000–226

RANK 2500–204

RANK 5000–182

RANK 7500- 167

RANK 10000- 155

I can’t predict the cutoff, its not possible to predict it.

The reason why the 10000th ranker is at 155 whereas it was 110s last year is seen due to the increase in easy marks question. RANK 10 is at 312 where as it was at around 290s last time is because of the decrease in number of difficult questions. Last year the band between topper and 10000th ranker is around 56%. This year i have predicted the band to be ~50%.

If you have any updates on the toppers marks of each state or city. Please comment below as it would help in refining the Rank vs Mark.
