A 26-year-old patient from Gandhinagar was successfully treated for Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) — a rare and highly fatal viral infection — thanks to the doctors’ early clinical suspicion, rapid isolation and immediate initiation of antiviral therapy at a crucial stage of illness.

In this case, Dr Tejash Parikh, Consultant – Critical Care Medicine, and Dr Amit Patel, Consultant – Critical Care Medicine, took immediate charge of the patient, strictly implementing infection-control protocols and initiating intensive treatment even before confirmatory reports were available, recognising that every minute is critical in managing such life-threatening conditions.

This life-saving outcome reflects the strength of decisive medical leadership, coordinated multidisciplinary teamwork, and round-the-clock efforts by critical care specialists, physicians and dedicated nursing staff, who closely monitored the patient, proactively managed complications, and ensured the highest standards of safety and care at every stage of treatment.
