Expia Pty Ltd is an Australian owned business that has been operating since
2010. We specialise in software platforms to assess permanent impairments
in compliance with the American Medical Association. Expia's core product is
PIAT (Permanent Impairment Assessment Tool) which is a user-friendly
platform that quickly and reliably translates Permanent Impairment
Assessment (PIA) examination findings into a compliant Whole Person
Impairment (WPI) rating. PIAT benefits key stakeholders in the compensation industry by ensuring
accurate reports and reducing time to produce compliant Permanent
Impairment Reports. Licensed by the American Medical Association (AMA),
PIAT is modified for the legislature of each jurisdiction. The AMA Guides is intended to provide an objective, fair and consistent
method to determine the WPI% for injured persons, however due to
complexity of interpreting the Guides, accumulated and observed data
indicates demonstrates an error rate of in excess of 50% for Permanent
Impairment Reports. PIAT calculates the WPI% and delivers an annotated document with detailed
referencing to be included in the final report. PIAT allows the complex AMA
Guides to be interpreted easily and accurately for key stakeholders, in
conjunction with the Jurisdictional Guides so providing injured persons an
objective, fair and consistent method of WPI% determination. PIAT demonstrates a 36% time reduction in reviewing Permanent Impairment
Assessment Reports. As well as resolving claims faster, PIAT can minimise
the stress and unnecessary conflict caused by inaccurate impairment reports. PIAT acts as a baseline medical or pre-employment reporting tool. PIAT facilitates medical assessors in writing accurate compliant Permanent
Impairment Assessment Reports.
