**“Meniscus injuries are among the most common knee issues I see, and this is a case of meniscus repair—a procedure that aims to preserve the patient’s natural cartilage and restore long-term joint health.
Today’s case involved a meniscus repair performed using the all-inside arthroscopic technique—an advanced, minimally invasive method that allows us to restore meniscal integrity while minimizing surgical trauma.
The all-inside technique offers several advantages: smaller portals, reduced operative time, and decreased risk to surrounding structures compared with traditional inside-out or outside-in methods. Using specialized implant systems, we can secure the tear with precise fixation while preserving as much healthy meniscal tissue as possible
Meniscus preservation remains a top priority in modern sports medicine. Keeping the meniscus intact provides long-term protection for the articular cartilage, helps maintain joint stability, and significantly reduces the risk of early degenerative changes.
Whenever possible, repairing the meniscus is preferred over removing the damaged portion. The meniscus plays a vital role in shock absorption, stability, and protecting the knee from early arthritis. By preserving this structure, we give patients the best chance at maintaining healthy function for years to come.
Successful repair requires careful assessment of tear pattern, vascular supply, and tissue quality. Patients will gradually progress through controlled mobility, strengthening, and functional training to ensure safe healing and optimal outcomes.
It’s always rewarding to help someone move one step closer to returning to their activities pain-free and confident. Orthopedic care is as much about restoring quality of life as it is about surgical precision.
