Physio vs Orthopedician
 or Physio and Orthopedician?

Yesterday I had a patient referred by an orthopedician for persistent muscle pain in the left peri-scapular region.
4 months of discomfort. Multiple visits. Mild relief.
So when he came to me, he said politely but anxiously:

> “Before you start anything, please talk to my doctor
I don’t want to go wrong again.”

Fair enough.
Pain makes people cautious, and trust isn’t built in one session.

I assessed his local scapular muscles, screened for cervical referral, analysed ranges — but before sharing anything with the patient, I picked up the call and spoke to his doctor.

We discussed the clinical findings.
We respected each other’s roles.
We kept the patient at the centre of the conversation.

And at the end of the call he said something that stayed with me:

“Ma’am, this is up to you. Show your magic — let me know if I can support in any way.”

That one line reflects what true healthcare should look like:
- Not ego, but teamwork
- Not superiority, but synergy
- Not “Physio vs Ortho”
 but Physio + Ortho

The patient doesn’t need to choose between us.
The patient deserves both of us working together.

Collaboration isn’t a weakness — it’s a superpower in healthcare. đŸ€

Cervical pain is one of the most common issues I see in clinical practice—yet most people don’t know which type of neck pain they actually have.

In this video, I break down the 4 major types of cervical pain and share the correct do’s and don’ts for each.
Understanding your pain type is the first step toward effective treatment and long-term relief.

đŸ”č Muscle strain pain
đŸ”č Nerve compression
đŸ”č Postural neck pain
đŸ”č Joint stiffness

Whether you work long hours at a desk, spend a lot of time on your phone, or experience radiating pain—this guide will help you identify the root cause and take the right steps.

If this can help someone in your network, please share it forward.
Let’s spread accurate physiotherapy awareness.
