According to Ayurveda, moongfali belongs to the legume family, not the nut family, just like lentils and beans! 🌿
Unlike almonds or cashews that grow on trees, peanuts grow underground, which gives them different qualities and effects on the body.

Ayurveda describes peanuts as guru (heavy) and snigdha (oily) in nature. While they are nourishing, protein-rich, and energy-boosting, they can be hard to digest for some people, especially when eaten in large amounts. They may aggravate Vata and Pitta dosha, leading to gas, bloating, or acidity if not balanced properly.

For better digestion, Ayurveda suggests roasting peanuts instead of frying them, and eating them in moderation. Combining them with a little ghee, jaggery, or rock salt helps neutralize their dry and heavy properties, making them easier on the stomach.
