A nine-year-old boy from Bidkin was suffering from dizziness and vomiting for three months. When examined his blood pressure was 230/140 mm of hg. He had hypertensive encephalopathy due to high blood pressure. The cause of high blood pressure at this age was found to be a bilateral tumor of the adrenal glands that clings to both kidneys, a tumor called pheochromocytoma. Endocrinologist Dr. Pratibha Aute and Pediatric intensive care specialist Dr. Vinod Ingle put the patient on antihypertensive medication. After several days of tireless effort, his high blood pressure was brought under control.
After investigating a patient . , Head of General Surgery Department and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon found a tumor in the both sides of adrenal gland of the patient measuring 4 cm on the right side and 3.5 cm on the left side. Dr. Pravin Suryawanshi decided to perform this complicated surgery and successfully removed a tumor in the both sides of adrenal gland by laparoscopy surgery with cortical sparing technique. During the operation, an expert from the Pediatric intensive care unit, Dr. Vinod Ingle and anesthesiologist Dr. Vasanti Kelkar monitored the patient's high blood pressure.
The patient is now completely cured of the disease and does not need to be given any steroids. With the help of laparoscopy surgery, such a challenging surgery relieves the patient from the pain of incision and also from taking steroid pills for life.

It is amazing to spend time doing what you love the most! Feeling honored and fortunate to be part of a live demonstration of a tedious case of Laparoscopic lateral pancreaticojejunostomy as part of 'Lap Unlimited'. The event was attended by over 4100 surgeons from all over India and 41 medical colleges participating to view several live surgeries. Many congratulations to Roy for the grand success of the show, and heartfelt thanks for allowing such a great opportunity and for the hospitality displayed during the show!
