Huge congratulations to for her victory yesterday and being elected to represent NJ’s District 11!

In this critical race, CIR members were incredibly proud to back Analilia as the progressive candidate with a record of fighting for working families. Looking forward to working together for the health of our community!

With the explosion of AI, labor unions have been one of the leading voices calling for protections for workers and families. Yesterday, we were proud to join Sen. and national unions like .union, , , and the in a press conference to call attention to the threats of AI to workers.

People everywhere are mobilizing more and more to ensure people come first over the profits of these tech corporations. And as doctors, we are proud to stand with these efforts!

Thank you to CM Alexa Avilés and all our elected allies who are calling on NYC Health + Hospitals and Maimonides Health to do the right thing and FULLY HONOR OUR UNION CONTRACT and their promises to CIR during this merger!
NYC H+H CEO Dr. Mitchell Katz publicly promised to honor all union contracts just last month, but now H+H and Maimonides management are threatening to go back on their commitments and dissolve our hard-won collective bargaining agreement! This could pose major issues for residents on visas, while threatening wages and benefits across the board.

Maimo residents care for Brooklyn every single day, pushing ourselves further and further to be the doctors our patients need. Tonight at bargaining and going forward, management must respect our work and our union and honor their promises!

Yesterday, CIR members from UCSF and Sutter CPMC traveled to Sacramento in support of SB 915, a bill to protect patients and healthcare workers when ICE enters the hospital with patients under custody.

Dr. Satkartar Kalsa testified in Senate Health committee alongside the California Pan-Ethnic Health Network (CPEHN) and bill author Senator Caroline Menjivar. When the well-being of our patients is threatened, we will be there to do everything we can to protect them. And that includes protection from immigration enforcement.

We, the doctors at Wyckoff, the Brooklyn Hospital Center, and the Institute for Family Health-Harlem, matter. Our patients matter.

That is why we are coming to the bargaining table ot fight for a New York that keeps care strong for our city.

We need our city to show up for us and our hospital CEOs to hear our demands.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS! 🚨 This morning a supermajority of nearly 150 resident physicians at Kaweah Health in Visalia, CA filed for union recognition with to be the FIRST UNION at Kaweah ✊ 🔥 🤩

Today’s filing marks a major step forward as Kaweah residents fight for not just their own well-being in the midst of major cuts and grueling working conditions, but also for their underserved patients in the Central Valley. It’s time for Kaweah residents to have a voice in what impacts them, their patients, and their community!

It can be extremely difficult as a resident to start building a family - from long, grueling hours to incredibly high childcare costs, residents face unique challenges that can be solved through fair contracts which include family planning in their language.

Last week, CIR physicians from Jefferson Health, Temple Health, and Jefferson Health – Einstein met with more than 20 elected officials from across Greater Philadelphia to discuss our fight for fair first contracts and ensuring sustainable care for our communities.

As the doctors providing the majority of care in our city’s hospitals, our well-being is tied to the health of all Philadelphians. But after months of bargaining, too many of us are still struggling to get by with our current pay and working conditions while regularly working 80+ hours a week.

We know that there is power in numbers and our hospitals cannot run without us, so let’s be very clear: we care deeply about our patients + this city, and won’t stop fighting until we win the fair contracts that both we and Philly communities deserve! 💪 💜
