ಎಚ್ಚೆದುಕೋ ! ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸು !
ನವರಾತ್ರಿಯ ಒಂಬತ್ತು ದಿನ ಒಂಬತ್ತು ದೇವಿಯರನ್ನ ಪೂಜಿಸುವುದಲ್ಲ !
ಶೈಲಾ ಪುತ್ರಿ - ಜನ್ಮ ಪಡೆದ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಗು
ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಚಾರಿಣಿ - ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಜೀವಿಸಲು ಮರಿಯಾದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯುತ್ತಿರುವವಳು
ಚಂದ್ರ ಘಂಟಾ - ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಕಲಿತು ಪ್ರೇಮ, ಕರುಣೆ, ಸಹನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಒಡಲೊಳಗೆ ಆಶ್ರಯ ಕೊಡುವವಳು
ಕೂಷ್ಮಾಂಡ - ನಿನಗೆ ಜನ್ಮ ಕೊಡಲು ನಿನ್ನ ಅವಳ ಗರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಧರಿಸಿದವಳು
ಸ್ಕಂದ ಮಾತ - ನಿನಗೆ ಪಾಲನೆ, ಪೋಷಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವವಳು
ಕಾತ್ಯಾಯಿನಿ - ಗಂಡ, ಮನೆ, ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನ ಶಾಂತಿ ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಸರಿತೂಗಿಸುವವಳು
ಕಾಳರಾತ್ರಿ - ತ್ಯಾಗ, ತಪಸ್ಸು ಮತ್ತು ವ್ರತದಿಂದ ಸಂಸಾರವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವವಳು
ಮಹಾಗೌರಿ - ವಯಸಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು ಸಂಸಾರದ ಹಿತವನ್ನು ಬಯಸುತ್ತ ತನ್ನ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ತ್ಯಾಗ ಮಾಡುವ ತಾಯಿ
ಸಿದ್ದಿದಾತ್ರೀ - ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಉತ್ತಮ ಪುರುಷನನ್ನಾಗಿ ರೂಪಿಸಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಯಶಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಸಂಭ್ರಮಿಸುವವಳು
ನಿನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಈ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿತು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸುವವನು ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಒಂಬತ್ತು ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸ್ತ್ರಿಯರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವವನು ನಿಜವಾದ ನವರಾತ್ರಿಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುವನು ಮತ್ತು ಆ ನಿಜ ದೇವಿಯ ಕೃಪೆಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರನಾಗುವನು

Shaila Putri - A girl child who took birth
Brahmacharini - To live life she is learning respect and values
Chandra Ghanta - She who has learnt values and gives love, compassion, tolerance and shelters everyone within herself
Kushmanda - She who carries you in her womb to give birth to you
Skanda Mata - She who gives you care, nourishment and imparts values
Katyayini - She who balances husband, home, children and family with peace and happiness
Kalaratri - She who protects the family with sacrifice, & penance
Maha Gauri - A mother who sacrifices her life for the welfare of the family even when she is getting older
Siddidatri - She who makes you a pious man and celebrates your success
He who knows these qualities of a mother and worships her and respects all women who undergoes these nine stages is a man who performs true Celebration of Navratri and is going be eligible for receiving grace from that true Goddess.
