Akshadhaa Foundation School

Akshadhaa Foundation School Akshadhaa Foundation is registered as not for profit trust in 2012 and is working boldly for children in the spectrum with varied interventions.

Registered not for profit trust, that is working with children with autism and other neuro-developmental disability, providing therapeutic interventions, life skill training & vocation skill training leading them towards meaningful engagement & employment. The parents are getting training and opportunities to learn strategies to work with their children to keep a smooth and generalized approach of teaching. The foundation runs a school program which is also focusing on young adults in the Autism spectrum, imparting pre-vocation skill training of few short listed vocations. Research shows that adults with ASD require considerable supports. Possibly only 15% achieve independence, and another 20% function well in the presence of community based support. This points out the great need for studies, in order to improve the situation for the estimated 65% who are not independent or not “functioning well”. • Horticulture unit for therapeutic purpose, training and employability

A proud moment for all of us!

Today we celebrate a milestone where our trainees are no longer just trainees, they are now proud employees of AMAZON!

Three of our Retail Fast Track course trainees were successfully placed at the Amazon Yelahanka branch last month. During our recent capacity building session, we received extremely positive feedback from their Team Leader and HR. This session was led by our Founder, Sumana Dutta, who also discussed the future growth plan for our trainees.

We are truly enthusiastic and inspired by their achievements. We firmly believe that a day will come when society recognizes our trainees for their skills and abilities, not their disabilities.

Join us in creating more opportunities for our current trainees who are aspiring for placement in the near future.
Let’s work together, connect with us!

For years, young individuals with neurodivergent abilities were overlooked. But they are not hidden any more; they are stepping into their power.

Through the inspiring initiative “Code Unnati” by Akshadhaa Foundation in collaboration with SAP Labs India, these exceptional minds are getting the right push with customised training in coding, graphic design, Excel and more. They are not just learning, they are thriving, and many have already secured internships and jobs.

Read how a change in perspective can unlock extraordinary talent.
🙏 We thank every supporter, mentor, and employer who gives these children a chance. When you stop seeing disability as a limitation and start seeing a different way of experiencing the world, true inclusion happens.

🌿 ThirTEEN years of inclusion, innovation, and impact!
From classrooms to communities, our journey has been about breaking barriers and building possibilities.
Over the past 13 years, Akshadhaa Foundation has shaped a social model of supported employment for autistic adults, moving from dependence to dignity through skill-building, employment and community participation.

Last year through Blessings Akshadhaa Initiative 18 trainees from our vocational and IT units earned a total stipend of ₹1,78,982 -- reflecting both financial empowerment and the value of their contribution across paper production, confectionery, creative arts and digital printing production.
Thanks to ANZ, RBL bank, Taj hotels, Amazon, Himalaya for their inclusive hiring and open door for the trainees in mainstream workplaces.

Akshadhaa is also the genesis of Akshadhaa Assisted Living, the one of its kind Residential community for the neurodiverse. The 5 acre campus is getting developed to become a space where individuals, families, educators, healthcare providers and corporates can live, learn, collaborate and grow together.
In collaboration with the Block Education Department and Women & Child Development Department, we now support 9 government schools, NGOs and community organizations, delivering inclusive education, life skills, digital literary and pre-vocational training to underprivileged learners.

As we step into our teen years, we carry forward one simple belief : When inclusion meets opportunity, every life can thrive.

We Believe in Knowledge Sharing for an Inclusive Future

At Akshadhaa Foundation, we strongly believe that sharing knowledge and building collaborations are key to empowering our neurodiverse community to sustain and grow with dignity and purpose.

We were delighted to host a group of counsellors from Banjara University, who visited us to understand the work style, strengths, and challenges within the neurodiverse community. Their keen interest in exploring how counselling can support emotional well-being and help streamline behavioural challenges reflects a deep commitment to inclusion and empathy.

This interaction opened meaningful dialogues on mental health, emotional regulation, and community support systems, paving the way for joint efforts that nurture both skill development and emotional resilience among neurodiverse individuals.

Together, we can build a future where every neurodiverse individual has the right support, opportunity, and space to thrive.

A big thank you to the ANZ group of volunteers who came forward to work shoulder to shoulder with our vocational trainees in creating Dussehra festive gifting products.

The presence of these additional hands not only boosted our production but also gave our trainees the joy of working with new buddies.

At Akshadhaa, our standard volunteering concept is built on empathy and inclusion, helping volunteers deeply understand the neurodiverse community and inspiring them to continue this spirit of collaboration in their own communities.

Together, we make festivals more meaningful. 💛

We are happy to share that a community teachers’ training session was conducted at our community partner Vasthalya, where 27 dedicated teachers participated. The session focused on identifying red flags in child development and explored various aspects of early intervention.

This is the beginning of a series of training sessions designed to empower our community teachers to effectively support the 60 children in their classrooms. Beyond academics, the sessions aim to equip teachers with tools for providing a holistic approach to learning and development, ensuring every child gets opportunities to grow and thrive.

Together, we are building stronger classrooms and brighter futures.
