Akshadhaa Foundation School

Akshadhaa Foundation School Akshadhaa Foundation is registered as not for profit trust in 2012 and is working boldly for children in the spectrum with varied interventions.

Registered not for profit trust, that is working with children with autism and other neuro-developmental disability, providing therapeutic interventions, life skill training & vocation skill training leading them towards meaningful engagement & employment. The parents are getting training and opportunities to learn strategies to work with their children to keep a smooth and generalized approach of teaching. The foundation runs a school program which is also focusing on young adults in the Autism spectrum, imparting pre-vocation skill training of few short listed vocations. Research shows that adults with ASD require considerable supports. Possibly only 15% achieve independence, and another 20% function well in the presence of community based support. This points out the great need for studies, in order to improve the situation for the estimated 65% who are not independent or not “functioning well”. • Horticulture unit for therapeutic purpose, training and employability

At Akshadhaa Foundation, we believe awareness is the first step towards empowerment.

Our Health Awareness Workshop for Mothers & Girls created a safe and meaningful space for open conversations around menstrual health, PCOD, puberty, and menopause.

We were honoured to host Dr. Anuradha Sadashivmurthy, along with her faculty team, whose expertise brought clarity and confidence to every participant. We were equally privileged to have Dr. Bhalachander sharing his valuable insights, encouraging a more informed and preventive approach to health.

Together, this collective guidance truly enlightened minds and strengthened our community.

An Interns Training & Development program on “UNDERSTANDING AUTISM AND ITS INTERVENTIONS” was led by our Founder & Executive Director Ms. Sumana Dutta. Students from diverse academic backgrounds from within and outside Bangalore including MSW, MSc Clinical & Counselling Psychology, and Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy.

Our interns from Kristu Jayanti University, Columbia Group of Institutes, and Marian College, Kuttikanam engaged in thoughtful discussions that deepened their understanding of autism, evidence-based interventions, and the real-life nuances of working within neurodiverse communities.

More than a knowledge-sharing program, this initiative strengthened practical insight, professional sensitivity, and interdisciplinary collaboration among emerging practitioners. By bridging academic learning with field realities, it contributed meaningfully to building a more informed, empathetic, and inclusion-driven workforce.

This reflects Akshadhaa’s continued commitment to capacity building and shaping future professionals who can create lasting impact in the field of neurodevelopment and mental health.

February’s PARENT INTERACTION SESSION at our Inclusive Digital Learning Centre was filled with pride, reflection, and renewed commitment

Parents shared the positive changes they have observed in their children, while meaningful discussions unfolded around digital empowerment, emotional well-being, and practical life skills.

The session also highlighted future pathways — with 4 students mapped for the new internship batch, where 2 students at a time will complete 3–4 week internships, along with the sharing of 5 inspiring e-commerce success stories of our own students, reflecting growing confidence, responsibility, and independence.

A powerful reminder that when families and educators walk together, inclusion becomes action and POTENTIAL turns into PROGRESS ✨

Akshadhaa Strengthening Early Childhood Care by EMPOWERING ANGANWADI TRAINERS

Akshadhaa Foundation, in collaboration with the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Karnataka, conducted a structured training programme for 28 Anganwadi trainers from 28 Anganwadi centres across K. R. Puram under the ETSM Sarathy community outreach project—supporting the lives of hundreds of young children and families.

The programme focused on early identification of developmental delays, inclusive pedagogical approaches, and systematic monitoring of child development, aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) for Early Childhood Education and Care.

To support effective field-level implementation, Akshadhaa Foundation equipped every participant with structured resource toolkits and development checklists enabling consistent observation, documentation, and follow-up, and strengthening everyday practices that shape better early childhood outcomes at the community level.
