There are many vulnerable and helpless people to take care of who lack even basic necessities like food and water. As Bengaluru was reeling under the stress on hospitals post Covid19, William Chitla contemplated on the service he can render to the city, especially the area of Yeshwantpur. Bearing this thought in mind, he presented the idea to his group of friends, tentatively. As he met resistance and disagreement from them, yet he stood firm in his resolve to start a philanthropic initiative, CovidSevaks. The idea was first to help people in meeting the lack of medical supplies like vaccination, ventilators or ICU beds. But soon the thought of supplying starving people with food was conceived in his mind as the need for the former was too overwhelming to meet. This initiative of CovidSevaks seeks to inspire the privileged to help the society with their resources and alleviate the hunger or anything daunting in it. The Covid Sevak team has grown to 30+ volunteers who are helping in daily activities and I urge other who are watching our posts to help poor and needy in their streets or in their locality and also a group of friends can come together and help in their area.
