Question of the day: How has emotional intelligence helped you succeed? For most people, emotional intelligence (EQ) serves more value in life than one’s intelligence (IQ). As individuals, our success is dependent upon our ability to read social/emotional cues and react appropriately to them. In turn, each one of us must develop the emotional intelligence skills required to better understand, empathize and negotiate with other people.

Our brains were designed for survival. In order to do this, communicating with other human beings is essential. Humans have survived for eons because of this ability to adapt and communicate with others. Starting with the hunters and gatherers, and going through today’s era of online shopping, people have found ways to communicate not only as a survival necessity but for the desire for human interaction and socialization.
