Lutein, Zeaxanthin, and Meso-Zeaxanthin are the three dietary carotenoids present in “macular pigment” of our eye. These three carotenoid pigments are responsible for our ability to perceive colors. The macular pigments selectively filter out image-degrading visible blue light for sharper vision. Lutein is also known as “the eye vitamin”.

Blue light emitted from mobile phone screens and other digital devices can decrease contrast leading to digital eyestrain. Fatigue, dry eyes, bad lighting, or how you sit in front of the digital screen can cause eyestrain. Symptoms of eyestrain include sore or irritated eyes and difficulty focusing.
