Namaste

nutriiU firmly believes in this ancient ayurvedic proverb,

“WHEN DIET IS WRONG, MEDICINE IS OF NO USE. WHEN DIET IS CORRECT, MEDICINE IS OF NO NEED.”

Founder's Story

As a healthcare administrator, I observed the importance of patient diet along with the treatment for a better outcome. The post-discharge diet consultations usually provided by the dieticians used to be about what food groups to avoid and what to consider. However, there was no disease condition-specific easy to cook recipes based on the culture/geographical preferences provided by the dieticians for patients to follow at home. There is a multitude of diets across the globe in all regions and cultures. Each is influenced by the tradition of the past, along with the produce available in the area. This gap sparked a deep desire to use my chef training alongside my medical background, to create and recommend few researched recipes to my close circle of friends which helped to better their health issues and overall wellbeing,

With this objective, We found nutriiU – a curated health and wellness recipe portal, to provide tailor-made recipes for specific health conditions to strike perfect lifestyle balance. These recipes can be enjoyed by otherwise healthy people too. Pairing culinary with nutrition incorporates food qualities like taste, satiety, and appearance along with nutrition goals. Healthy Cooking awareness provides our readers with a sense of control over the ingredients, preparation style, and portion size of foods eaten. Proper nutrition equates to receiving enough (but not too much) of the macronutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and water) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) so that body can stay healthy, grow properly, and work effectively. Eating a variety of foods from all the food groups fuels the body by providing what it needs to produce energy, promote metabolic activity, prevent micronutrient deficiencies, ward off/control chronic disease conditions, and reinforcing a sense of overall health and wellbeing. I hope NutriiU recipes and research articles posted in the blog will help you adapt to a healthier diet and lifestyle, thus bringing a wholesome change to your mind, body, and soul.

Costus igeus, commonly known as insulin plant in India, belongs to family Costaceae. It is believed that consumption of the leaves helps lower the blood glucose levels, and diabetics who consumed the leaves of this plant report a fall in their blood glucose levels.

The insulin plant, holds great importance in Ayurveda and chewing the leaves of this plant can control your sugar levels to a great extent, although its taste can leave a sour feeling in the mouth.
