Honoured to Speak at the World Cancer Congress – Oman 🇴🇲

It was a privilege to represent HCG Cancer Centre and The Yellow Ribbon at the World Cancer Congress 2025 in Muscat, Oman — sharing our experience and recent advances in Orthopaedic Oncology.

Our session focused on:
🔹 Genomics in Sarcomas – the evolving role of precision medicine in predicting outcomes.
🔹 3D Printing in Tumor Reconstruction – translating design to durable limb-salvage solutions.
🔹 Massive Allografts in Children – restoring growth potential and function after complex resections.
🔹 Robotics in Orthopaedic Oncology – enhancing surgical precision and improving long-term outcomes.

We also shared insights from our Oman cohort of 30+ sarcoma patients, with an average follow-up of 2.5 years and a survival rate exceeding 70% — highlighting the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration and continuity of care across an 8–12 month treatment journey.

The meeting brought together thought leaders from the Gulf, Middle East, and GCC region, reaffirming the collective vision to build regional excellence in cancer care and limb-salvage surgery.

Grateful to the organizers and colleagues for the meaningful discussions and partnerships shaping the future of oncology.

Mixed Reality in Orthopaedic Oncology — Reimagining Surgical Planning

The convergence of AR and VR—collectively known as Mixed Reality (MR)—is transforming surgical planning and education in orthopaedic oncology.

While 3D printing helped visualize complex anatomy, it’s MR that truly allows surgeons to step inside the case — viewing tumors, resection margins, and implants in real-world spatial context.

In collaboration with Dr. Casey Wong, we integrated CT and MRI data into a mixed-reality workflow using the Microsoft HoloLens 2.
The result? A deeper understanding of surgical geometry and planning that transcends traditional imaging.

Though Microsoft may discontinue the HoloLens 2, the promise of MR in oncology continues. The real challenge now lies in building global collaboration among clinicians, engineers, and innovators to sustain this evolution.

Mixed Reality isn’t just technology — it’s a step toward precision, empathy, and preparedness in cancer surgery.

🏥 Asia-Pacific Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (APMSTS) 2025 – Bali, Indonesia

It was an honour to participate in the APMSTS 2025 meeting held in Bali, Indonesia, bringing together leading orthopaedic oncosurgeons and sarcoma specialists from across the Asia-Pacific region and around the world. The conference served as a vital platform for advancing knowledge in sarcoma care, limb salvage surgery, and orthopedic oncology innovations.

We presented two papers at this prestigious meeting:
1️⃣ Novel Bioprosthetic 3D-Printed Tumor Prosthesis – highlighting outcomes from three complex cases combining biological reconstruction principles with custom-engineered implants.
2️⃣ Proximal Femur Reconstruction in Children – presenting one of the world’s largest pediatric series (11 cases) with a long-term follow-up of four to five years, showcasing encouraging functional outcomes.

Delegates from over 25 countries contributed to this enriching academic exchange, reaffirming our collective commitment to innovation, collaboration, and excellence in musculoskeletal oncology.

Would you like me to tailor it with your designation and institutional tag line (for example:
“Dr. Pramod Chinder, Director – Orthopaedic Oncology, HCG Cancer Centre | Founder – The Yellow Ribbon”) at the end, formatted neatly for LinkedIn’s footer style?

🚨 Milestone in Healthcare Innovation! 🏥🧪

A state-of-the-art Bone Bank has been inaugurated at Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Trauma and Orthopaedics (SGITO), Bengaluru — marking a transformative leap in orthopedic and cancer care!

✨ Key Highlights:
✅ Established at a cost of ₹1.8 crore
✅ First-of-its-kind in a government hospital in Karnataka
✅ Features advanced cryopreservation technology
✅ A crucial step toward affordable and accessible healthcare

This facility is a game-changer for orthopaedic oncology, particularly in treating bone sarcomas. For patients with bone cancer, limb salvage surgery often involves removing diseased bone. The Bone Bank provides biologically compatible, sterilized bone grafts that enable reconstruction of large bone defects — offering patients a chance at limb preservation rather than amputation.

It also plays a vital role in treating traumatic bone loss, revision joint replacements, and complex deformity corrections, ensuring better long-term outcomes and improved quality of life.

👏 Kudos to the incredible team of doctors, researchers, and policymakers whose vision and dedication made this possible!

📍 A proud moment for Karnataka’s medical community and a strong stride toward strengthening India’s medical infrastructure.
