to the Pune Public Policy Festival! Two days. One buzzing room. And lots of questions.

We had a fantastic time conducting public policy–themed quizzes across both days at the Pune Public Policy Festival, with our co-founder Sachin Ravi hosting lively, high-energy rounds that turned complex policy conversations into engaging, participatory learning.

Set alongside discussions on technology-enabled growth, responsible and inclusive tech, and India’s global digital leadership, the quizzes became a space where policy met people — sparking Quriosity, conversation, and a whole lot of fun.

Thank you to the Pune Public Policy Festival for creating a space where learning could be interactive, accessible, and exciting!

Four budget day trivia, featuring QT the Qurious cat at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE)!

1. The word “budget” comes from bougette—an Old French word for a small leather bag used to carry financial papers. In medieval times, presenting the budget literally meant bringing the bag.

2. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presents her 9th consecutive Union Budget, the first in India to do so.

3. She overtakes P Chidambaram and Pranab Mukherjee, and moves closer to Morarji Desai’s record of 10 budgets (though his weren’t consecutive).

4. And for the first time in independent India, the Union Budget is being presented on a Sunday—with special trading sessions at the BSE and NSE so markets can react in real time.
