In a morale-boosting speech, PM Modi urged the citizens of India to turn off all the lights at 21:00 hours on April 5, 2020, Sunday, for 9 minutes.

He appealed to light lamps, diyas, and candles; turn on the torches and mobile flashlights in a move to dissolve the darkness of COVID-19 and bring in a ray of new light.
