What is SAE Reconciliation?
In clinical research, a Serious Adverse Event (SAE) reconciliation is the process of comparing and aligning the information about serious adverse events that appear in two different sources of data that is Clinical Database and Safety Database. Sometimes, the same SAE may be reported slightly differently in the two systems (e.g., missing dates, different terminology, or not updated). So SAE reconciliation ensures accuracy, both databases must match before the trial database is locked or before reporting to regulators.
