We are delighted to share with you that November 27th, 2018 marked 31 years of our founder, Dr. Narpat Solanki’s ophthalmic services in Bangalore.

This remarkable journey has consistently provided exceptional eye care to patients. Dr. Solanki Eye Hospital features state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, providing every tool we need for top-notch management of vision problems and eye diseases. In addition to setting up an eye-hospital, Dr. Solanki started Project Drishti, a Non-Governmental Organization to treat the underserved patients across India.

Over the past three decades, he has been a continuous source of inspiration to all of us working at Project Drishti. We are able to make a difference in the vision of thousands of people every year under his leadership.

Thank you for your constant support and motivation

"I am not aware of my age nor do I know to read or write. My husband passed away when our son was barely a year old. I've raised him by working as a daily wager. Unfortunately, even my son passed away a few years back. My poor vision had crippled my movement completely last year. I had to live on alms given by well-wishers. Thanks to Project Drishti, my vision is restored and I will easily be able to do 'Coolie Kelasa'." - Putamma, Kodihalli, Kanakapura, Bangalore Rural

Project Drishti - A charity dedicated to helping the poor restore vision.

Founded in 2001, Project Drishti (PD) is an India based registered non-profit organization founded by Dr. Narpat Solanki, a renowned Ophthalmologist, and a Rajyotsava awardee. It is a unit of Smt. Jivibai Genmalji Solanki Public Charitable Trust. PD works in association with Dr. Solanki Eye Hospital, based in Bengaluru.

We strive hard to achieve our mission- “every person has the right to sight”. This is made possible by providing high-quality eye care specifically to the marginalized sections of the society and treating preventable vision loss.

PD supports the World Health Organization’s Vision 2020 and strongly believes in improved vision for enabling a better quality of life for the visually challenged poor people.

Since its inception, across 22 districts in Karnataka, 6 districts in Rajasthan and abroad, PD has conducted more than 5000 screening camps and more than 2,000,000 people have been screened. In addition to camps, we have conducted training programs for advanced techniques in cataract surgeries for 372 Ophthalmologists from all over the world. Over 250,000 have benefitted with restored vision through surgeries conducted at no cost to the patients. In addition to surgeries, PD has distributed over 400,000 pairs of glasses free of cost.
