Hanseswari Temple, located in Bansberia, West Bengal, is a unique architectural marvel dedicated to Goddess Hanseswari, a form of Goddess Kali.

The temple was built in the early 19th century by Raja Nrisinhadeb Roy, and later completed by his wife, Rani Shankari. What makes the Hanseswari Temple truly special is its distinctive design, featuring thirteen lotus-shaped towers symbolizing the human body’s chakras and the concept of spiritual awakening.

The temple’s structure reflects a blend of Indian and European architectural styles, with influences of Ta***ic philosophy. Inside, the idol of Goddess Hanseswari is made of neem wood and painted blue, representing divine energy and calmness. Surrounding the main temple are smaller shrines dedicated to other deities, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere.

The temple complex also includes the nearby Ananta Basudev Temple, built in the traditional ek-ratna Bengal style. Visitors are often captivated by the temple’s symbolic structure and peaceful aura. Hanseswari Temple is not only a place of worship but also a reflection of Bengal’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

Bugga Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple is a Shiva shrine situated on the southern bank of the Penna River in Tadipatri, Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, India It was built between 1490 and 1509 by Pemmasani Ramalinga Nayudu I, a chieftain of the Gutti-Gandikota region during the reign of the Vijayanagara Empire.

The presiding deity is a linga, considered to be ‘swayambhu’ (naturally occurring or self originated).The temple has seven small independent pillars in front of the Vishnu shrine and when struck they produce 'saptaswara' (the seven musical notes). The gopurams of the temple are unfinished and were described by architectural historian James Anderson as ‘wonders’.

At a distance of 6 km from Jamnagar Railway Station, BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir is a Hindu Temple located on Dwarka Road in the outskirts of Jamnagar city. Situated opposite to the airport, it is one of the popular Swaminarayan Temples in Gujarat and among the best places to visit in Jamnagar as part of Jamnagar Tour.

Dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan, the Swaminarayan Temple in Jamnagar is a very beautiful temple with an air of silence and spirituality at its best. The temple is a remarkable structure of architectural brilliance. The temple also has two separate shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva-Parvati and Lord Rama-Sita. It has a small museum at the bottom of the main temple. It also has a vast well maintained garden and a cafeteria that serves delicious veg snacks.

The temple compound is so calm and serene and the sculptures, carvings on the wall and details are a treat to the eyes. It looks ethereal in the night due to its lighting. While you climb up the stairs that lead to the main structure, a wave of divinity seems to emanate from the temple compound. Also, the temple hosts a number of festivals and fairs along with daily prayers.

As described in the Skanda Purana (Kedarkhand), during the Mahabharata period, the Pandavas came here in search of Lord Shiva after the Kurukshetra war. Guided by Sage Balkhily at Bhrigu Parvat, they were directed to meet an old meditating sage at the nearby confluence. But as they approached, the sage vanished—and in his place appeared a magnificent Shivling, said to be the largest in Northern Bharat.

It is believed that by embracing this rock-formed linga, the Pandavas were absolved of their sins. Even today, the imprints of the Pandavas are said to be preserved within it. Revered as the “fifth pilgrimage” alongside Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, Budha Kedarnath remains an unexplored yet potent spiritual destination.
