Somatic Cell Sampling and Recovery (SCSRTM) Kits*
Product- Isolation of somatic cells kit

Description of the Technology- Enables researchers and clinical pathologists to isolate, noninvasively from f***l samples (0.5 gm aliquots), viable host cells from human and animals. Cell populations include functional epithelial cells, leukocytes, progenitor cells (Gastrointestinal progenitor stem cells).

This is a process by which we are able to sample living cells from humans and animals without a biopsy. These living cells (millions) are recovered from a small pellet of f***l material and then used for conducting a variety of tests - diagnostic, genetic, drug development etc. SCSRTM kits consist of a vial containing a preservative for collecting a pellet of f***l sample and a number of other accessories to allow the technician in the laboratory to isolate the cells. The preservative is nontoxic and the samples can be collected and sent via mail or UPS at room temperature (no refrigeration needed). The cells remain alive for up to 7 days at room temperature in the preservative.

Significance- This is the only procedure that allows us to obtain living cells from human and animal sources without the intervention of a clinician who would normally conduct a biopsy to obtain a tissue sample. Safe, Accurate and Cost effective.

Application- Pharmacogenomics and drug discovery, radiation biodosimetry, isolation and culture of gut stem cells.
