The Impact of Dental Diseases on Quality of life:
-Dental diseases have a considerable impact on self esteem,eating ability,nutrition & health both in childhood & older age.
-Teeth are important in enabling consumption of a varied diet and in preparing the food for digestion.
-Most important role is to enhance facial appearance.
-Nutritional status affects the teeth during d preeruptive stage.
-Deficiencies of vitamin D, vit A and protein energy malnutrition
have been associated with loss of enamel.
-Saliva is one of the mouth's natural defences against this process
