I am not denouncing surgery as a means of management of ruptured liver abscess, but as we are progressing in medicine minimal invasive procedure should take preference if they are available in your place, surgery should be reserved for cases not amenable to percutaneous drainage, similarly we are performing percutaneous drainage for pancreatits with WOPN, when percutaneous procedure is done properly with proper maintenance of catheter and regular upgradation of size

Percutaneous continuous catheter drainage for ruptured liver abscess is a good option which is both cost effective and with low morbidity, last month we managed 2 patient with rupture liver abscess by continuous catheter, both patient had peritoneal rupture with collection, drains were placed in the abscess cavity and in the peritoneal collection, both patient recovered well
