It's not your fault..
Over the years I've felt that a lot is missing in terms of my learnings from my degree..
Running a clinic for over 8 years has taught me a LOT. Here are a few non-negotiables:
1️⃣ In BDS you worked on plastic teeth that never flinched.
In real life, you work on a human being with anxiety and trust in their eyes.
The patient who’s smiling—but terrified inside.
That emotional intelligence?
No textbook teaches it. You learn it patient by patient.
2️⃣ You learn how to do a treatment.
But you’re not taught how to explain it in a way that builds trust & adds to patient confidence. The one thing that keeps patients seated (and also brings them back).
3️⃣ You're taught to follow your senior's instructions.
But you’re not taught how to build systems, lead a team, and run a clinic that feels safe and smooth for patients.
💟 BDS teaches you dentistry.
Your clinic teaches you everything else.
And that learning never really ends...
