ABA is often seen as the only approach for children with autism, but that’s not true. Every child needs support beyond behavior alone. We must work on their tone, perception, cognition, postural control, sensory regulation, and self-regulation — areas ABA alone cannot cover. A comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach helps children grow in a more balanced and meaningful way.

In this activity, we use simple action words like *cut, squeeze, press, poke,* and *pinch* while playing with clay. These words help children understand and follow instructions, build vocabulary, and connect language with movement. When kids learn through hands-on play, their speech, comprehension, and motor skills grow together in a natural, fun way.

Every child’s transformation takes time. In therapy, patience and consistent efforts matter more than quick results. The first few sessions may seem challenging, but with steady guidance and perseverance, children gradually learn to regulate, engage, and participate. Small, consistent steps lead to meaningful change.

Speech tools are often overused.
Many therapy setups rely on toolkits for every child, but speech doesn’t develop that way. Not all children need oral tools—effective speech work begins with understanding the child’s underlying needs, not with using the same tools for everyone.

Body pressure is often used on any child who appears “hyperactive,” but this is not safe or appropriate. Hyperactivity alone does **not** mean a child has ADHD or autism, and deep pressure should never be given without proper assessment. Body pressure is a *proprioceptive* technique that belongs to a customized sensory diet, not a general activity for all children. When used unnecessarily, it can create fear, discomfort, or sensory confusion. Always ensure that such techniques are recommended specifically for **your child’s sensory needs**, not because they seem active or restless.

Ball activities are a fun and powerful way to build a child’s coordination, focus, strength, and teamwork skills. From rolling to throwing, balancing to catching — each game promotes motor planning, timing, and attention. These simple yet effective exercises can be done anywhere — at home, in school, or during therapy — turning playtime into meaningful skill-building moments. 🌈

Leucovorin (folinic acid) is often discussed for improving speech in autism, but it’s *not suitable for every child. The American Academy of Pediatrics does not recommend its routine use and advises giving it only after proper medical testing and under a doctor’s supervision. If taken without guidance, it may increase irritability, hyperactivity, aggression, or stomach issues*. Always consult your specialist before using any supplement.
