๐Ÿง  World Bipolar Day โ€“ March 30

This day is observed on the birth anniversary of Vincent van Gogh, whose life reflected the intense highs and lows often associated with mental health struggles.

๐ŸŽจ Despite creating masterpieces like Starry Night and Sunflowers, he faced deep emotional challenges throughout his life.

โš–๏ธ Understanding Bipolar Disorder:
Bipolar disorder has two main phases:
๐Ÿ”บ Mania โ€“ high energy, excitement, overactivity
๐Ÿ”ป Depression โ€“ sadness, low energy, hopelessness

Today, many people live with bipolar disorder, often without timely diagnosis or treatment.

๐Ÿ’™ But there is hope.
With the right treatment, guidance, and family support, individuals can live a balanced and fulfilling life.

Letโ€™s spread awareness and support mental health together ๐Ÿค

๐Ÿ“ฑ Do you also pick up your phone "just for 2 minutes" before going to sleep... only to find yourself scrolling for hours on end?
โš ๏ธ This habit is known as 'Doom Scrolling' โ€” and it can have a serious impact on your mental health.

๐Ÿง  Why is it harmful?
โœ”๏ธ The brain pays more attention to negative news (Negativity Bias)
โœ”๏ธ Dopamine makes it difficult to stop scrolling
โœ”๏ธ Social media algorithms often display content linked to fear and stress
โœ”๏ธ Levels of stress-inducing hormones (Cortisol) increase

๐Ÿ˜Ÿ The Impact:
๐Ÿ”ธ Anxiety and Depression
๐Ÿ”ธ Sleep-related issues ๐Ÿ˜ด
๐Ÿ”ธ Mental fatigue and a sense of disconnection from reality

โœ… What can you do?
โœ”๏ธ Set a time limit (e.g., 20 minutes in the morning and evening) โฐ
โœ”๏ธ Avoid using your phone before bedtime ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ“ฑ
โœ”๏ธ Unfollow negative content and turn off notifications ๐Ÿ”•

๐Ÿ’™ You cannot control the news, but you can certainly control your mind.

๐Ÿ‘‰ If anxiety, fear, or sleep-related issues are troubling you, do not hesitate to seek professional help.

๐Ÿท Using Alcohol for Sleep or Stress? Think Again!

Many people believe that 1โ€“2 drinks help with sleep or reduce stress, but this is a myth.

โš ๏ธ What Alcohol Actually Does:
โ€ข Gives temporary calmness, not real relief
โ€ข Disturbs REM sleep (deep, restorative sleep)
โ€ข Reduces sleep quality by 20โ€“40%
โ€ข Increases risk of anxiety & depression

๐Ÿ’ก Over time, the body builds tolerance, leading to increased consumption and dependency.

โ— Alcohol is not a solutionโ€”it can become a bigger problem.

๐Ÿง  If you are facing sleep issues, stress, or anxiety, seek proper medical help instead of relying on alcohol.

๐Ÿ’ญ Sudden Anxiety or Panic Attacks? Understand the Signs

If you suddenly feel nervous without reason, experience fast heartbeat, shortness of breath, dizziness, sweating, or a fear that something bad is about to happen, it may be a panic attack.

โš ๏ธ Common Symptoms:
โ€ข Rapid heartbeat
โ€ข Breathlessness or suffocation feeling
โ€ข Dizziness
โ€ข Sweating & trembling
โ€ข Fear of losing control or dying (impending doom)

โฑ๏ธ These attacks usually last 5โ€“10 minutes, rising like a wave and then slowly settling down.

๐Ÿง  Panic attacks occur when the brainโ€™s alarm system (amygdala) reacts even without real danger, putting the body into fight-or-flight mode.

๐Ÿ“Œ Possible Causes:
โ€ข Stress
โ€ข Lack of sleep
โ€ข Excess caffeine
โ€ข Past traumatic experiences

โ— If these attacks happen repeatedly, it may lead to panic disorder, where a person starts avoiding social situations or travel due to fear.

๐Ÿ’™ Remember: This is not a weakness, it is a treatable mental health condition. With proper guidance and care, you can recover completely.

๐Ÿ‘‰ If you or your loved ones are facing such symptoms, consult a psychiatrist without delay.

๐Ÿ’ค A Sleep Bank Account? Yes!

Every night, the sleep you get is like a deposit in your sleep bank.
Miss your sleep? You start building a โ€œsleep debtโ€ that affects your health and mind.

๐ŸŒ™ Nightly Deposits Matter
Think of sleep like an investment โ€”
๐Ÿ‘‰ โ€œSleep is SIP, not a lump sumโ€

โš ๏ธ Poor sleep can lead to stress, anxiety, low energy, and poor focus.
โœ… Maintain a regular sleep routine for a healthier mind and body.

โš ๏ธ Steroid Use & Mental Health Awareness

Nowadays, many young people going to the gym use anabolic steroids to build muscles quickly. These steroids are synthetic forms of testosterone and are often taken without medical advice and in high doses, which can be very dangerous.

While they may give fast physical results, steroids can cause serious health problems like high blood pressure, increased risk of heart attack, and damage to the liver and kidneys. They also disturb the bodyโ€™s hormonal balance, leading to issues like reduced s***m count, infertility, and testicular shrinkage.

The biggest impact is on mental health. Steroids can cause extreme anger, irritability, and aggression (roid rage). Some people may even experience depression, anxiety, mania, or psychosis. After stopping steroids, the sudden drop in natural hormones can lead to fatigue, low mood, and even suicidal thoughts.

๐Ÿ’ก The safest and best way to build a healthy body is through a balanced diet and disciplined workoutsโ€”not shortcuts.

๐Ÿ‘‰ If you or someone you know is facing mental health issues due to steroid use, consult a specialist without delay.

My name is Jagmeet Singh. I am 22 years old. A few months ago, I fell into bad company and started using drugs, including g***a and sukha. Gradually, I became disturbed, aggressive, and anxious. I felt like people were talking about me, and it seemed as if my body was deteriorating from within.

Thatโ€™s when I decided to seek help. I consulted Dr. Amit Gupta and started treatment. Within three months of regular medication and care, I have fully recovered. Today, I feel healthy, stable, and confident that I will not face such problems again.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš•๏ธ Doctorโ€™s Message:
Today, I want to share a real case of a 22-year-old young man who developed serious mental health issues after using cannabis. Within days, he began:
* Talking abnormally
* Feeling that others were plotting against him
* Hearing disturbing voices
* Believing his internal organs were damaged
* Experiencing severe restlessness, insomnia, and loss of appetite

He was diagnosed with cannabis-induced psychosis.

With timely treatment, he showed improvement within 10โ€“15 days, and after 3 months, he has almost completely recovered. He now understands his condition and is living a normal, healthy life again.

๐Ÿ™ A special mention to his mother, whose support, patience, and dedication played a crucial role in his recovery.

โš ๏ธ Important Awareness:
Cannabis can be dangerous and may lead to serious mental health conditions like psychosis. Stay away from substance abuse.

If you or someone you know is experiencing similar symptoms, consult a qualified psychiatrist without delay.

Online Gaming Addiction Awareness

Nowadays, many young people are becoming addicted to online games like PUBG: Battlegrounds and Free Fire. According to studies, a significant percentage of gamers are at risk of developing gaming addiction.

Addiction begins when:
๐ŸŽฎ Gaming starts taking priority over family, studies, work, and health
๐Ÿ˜ก You feel extreme anger if someone stops you from playing
โฐ You lose control over gaming time despite negative effects

Risks of Gaming Addiction:
โš ๏ธ Loss of interest in studies and daily activities
โš ๏ธ Financial loss through in-game purchases
โš ๏ธ Neck & back pain and eye strain
โš ๏ธ Increased risk of depression, anxiety, and aggression

Many games are designed to keep players hooked through rewards, leaderboards, daily quests, and near-miss rewards, which trigger the brainโ€™s dopamine system, similar to addictive substances.

Prevention Tips:
โœ”๏ธ Set strict screen-time limits
โœ”๏ธ Play outdoor sports and physical activities
โœ”๏ธ Spend more quality time with family and friends
โœ”๏ธ Seek professional help if signs of addiction appear

If gaming habits are affecting your life, consult a mental health professional.

๐Ÿง  Dr. Amit Gupta

A patient has been very restless for the past three to four days. He has not slept properly for three days, keeps talking continuously, and says that he will rule the world and earn crores of rupees. He also spends money excessively and keeps arguing with people.

These can be symptoms of the Mania phase of Bipolar Disorder.
Bipolar Disorder has two phases:
โ€ข Mania โ€“ a phase of extremely high energy, excitement, or irritability
โ€ข Depression โ€“ a phase of sadness, weakness, and helplessness

These phases can last for weeks or even months and may repeat over time.

โš ๏ธ Common Symptoms of Mania:
โ€ข Excessive happiness or irritability
โ€ข Increased self-confidence and grand ideas
โ€ข Very fast thoughts and pressure to keep talking
โ€ข Increased energy with little or no fatigue
โ€ข Very little need for sleep
โ€ข Risky or impulsive decisions (overspending, dangerous activities)

This condition is often linked to an imbalance of brain chemicals like dopamine and serotonin. It can also run in families, and stress, drug use, lack of sleep, or weather changes may trigger an episode.

In many cases, the patient may not realize that he is unwell, which makes treatment difficult.

โ— If these symptoms last for more than a week, or if the patient becomes aggressive or harms himself or others, it is very important to consult a psychiatrist immediately.

With proper diagnosis and regular treatment, people with Bipolar Disorder can live a healthy and successful life.
