A Precious Gift of Sight

In tiny hands, a future might
A premature bloom, with a fragile light.
Retinopathy of pre-maturity shadows loomed and brought into our clinic at Ghudda centre.
But love and skill dispelled the fear.

Lasered , with precision fine,
At AEC PGI, a new path did shine.
-9.00 DS, corrective glasses
A new world unfolded, in dazzling ways.

Today's the day, a moment so grand,
Her first glimpse, through lenses in hand.
Eyes wide open, a smile so bright,
Innocence radiates, like morning light.

Her laughter echoes, pure and free,
As colors blend, in harmony.
Each detail sharp, each moment new,
A world revealed, in all its hue.

May her vision stay strong and clear,
As she explores, and her dreams appear.
This little one's journey, a testament to care,
A story of hope, and love that's truly rare.

In her eyes, a sparkle shines,
A gift of sight, a heart that aligns.
May her path be lit, with joy and glee,
A precious gift, for all to see.

𝗟𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲!

In 1989, the first retinal laser was inducted into LVPEI, with funds from friends of Dr G N Rao (Founder-Chairman) and Bausch & Lomb Europe.

Lasers have been in use ever since, to both save and correct sight among infants born premature, babies, teenagers, adults and seniors, across a range of sub-specialities.

Light, particularly lasers, has revolutionized medicine, offering minimal invasive and precision surgeries, across specialities.

In ophthalmology, lasers harness the power of light to correct vision, remove tumours and treat an array of eye conditions - Retinopathy of Prematurity(ROP), myopia, cataract and retinal diseases, glaucoma management, among others.

Every year on May 16th, the world comes together to celebrate International Day of Light, an initiative by UNESCO.

This year's theme, "Light in Our Lives," underscores the profound impact light has on our world, from illuminating our surroundings to fuelling scientific breakthroughs. In the field of medicine, lasers have become a powerful tool, revolutionizing countless procedures.

IVI’s Vinod Daniel at the launch of SPECS 2030 in Geneva today with Alarcos Cieza and Stuart Keel of WHO, both leading the initiative, that as endorsed at the World Health Assembly, will pave the way for 40 percent more people than today to have access to a pair of glasses, by 2030. IVI is delighted to be an inaugural member of WHO's Global SPECS Network.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL FAMILIES DAY!

Many people think that vision therapy is only for children. However, adults have as much need for this type of vision care as children. Vision therapy is often effective for adults because they are motivated to improve their visual abilities.

When people have trouble using both eyes together or can't focus for great lengths of time, they do not simply grow out of these problems. Children with visual problems often become adults with visual problems.
