Hello friends...
I would like to share some simplified information and applicability of yoga in today's burning issue Sinusitis , hope this will be benefited.

UNDERSTANDING SINUSES:
* Sinuses consists of 4 pairs of air filled cavities behind & around eyes and nose

* They filter the air you breathe , keeping germs from getting into your lungs.

* So to combat these germs such as viruses that cause common cold , your sinus membrane swell, sometimes in response to these germs your sinuses can swell so that Ostia become blocked .

* Once these are blocked mucus cannot drain properly . Bacteria begin to breed inside the sinuses , causing a condition called Sinusitis.

APPLIED YOGA IN SINUSITIS :
*Sinusitis is the most common disease these days and many are afflicted by it. This can cause chronic ailment and gets worse in the winter. So in this case practising yoga poses can play major role in treating Sinusitis and it's associated problems..

* So let's discuss with some important yogic procedures here
1) JALANETI:
* It is to be practised in empty stomach
*Take a neti pot and lukewarm water with pinch of salt dissolved in the water
* Tilt the head and insert neti pot nozzle in active nostril let water flow through this nostril and ensure to release it through other nostril
* Mouth should be open and body should be relaxed.
* Repeat this for 5 times and after completing this one should practice forceful exhalation to remove residue water frm the nasal cavity

*BENEFITS:
-Effective in hair fall
-Cures headache , Sinusitis, insomnia

2) KAPALABHAATI :
* One should sit in comfortable position with back erect and eyes closed.
* Inhale deeply and exhale forcefully with contracting abdominal muscles
* This is to be practised about 3-5 minutes
* One should gradually increase breathing strokes forcefully and simultaneously while completing should slow down the breathing.

*BENEFITS :
- Corrects the breathing pattern
- Helps in loosing weight
- Clears the sinuses and relieves headache

3)SURYABHEDI PRANAYAMA :
* Sit in comfortable position with back straight and eyes closed
* Inhale through right nostril and exhale through left nostril .
* This completes one round , repeat it about 10-15 rounds .

* BENEFITS :
- It helps in proper breathing pattern and abundant oxygen supply for cells in body

4) ANULOMA VILOMA PRANAYAMA:
* Sit with comfortable position with back straight and closed eyes
* Close right nostril with thumb , inhale through left nostril and close the left nostril and exhale through right nostril , again inhale through right nostril and exhale through left nostril .

* BENEFITS :
- Gives relief in allergic rhinitis ,asthma, other respiratory diseases .

5) OM CHANTING :
* Chanting in produces sound vibrations , which encourage air to move back and forth between your sinus membranes and nasal passages.
* This air movement then open tiny ducts or Ostia that connect your nostrils and allowing your your sinuses to drain properly ..

So here I would like to conclude this topic , any questions ,doubts regarding the above topic is most welcome.
