GLAUCOMAS AWARENESS MONTH

Glaucoma in majority of patients is a silent disease. Vision starts getting blurred from outside towards centre. It’s only when the central vision is affected patients get to know that there is something wrong. It’s too late by the time patients have symptoms of blurry vision. Glaucoma is a silent killer of vision. Only way to find out is to get regular eye checks especially after 40 yrs of age. The picture in this post is similar to how patients lose peripheral vision in glaucoma.

Diabetic Retinopathy is preventable. You can protect yourself from Diabetic retinopathy by,
1. Good Sugar control always
2. Do regular Eye check-ups (Fundoscopy/Retina Check-up) atleast once a year.
