The concept of disease in Homeopathy is that disease is total affection of mind & body.
There are not local disease.
Disease is nothing but a disorder of vital force, we always have to treat the person, that is his disordered vital force, as represented by the totality of signs & sy's not merely local signs & sy's.
Disease is a dynamic affection; only one affection can exist at a time. If his affection is sulphur, it is sulphur, and nothing else. A man can be only in one state at a time.
You have to change the remedy if mentals & generals change.

Root of disease: Roots are tendencies which, when excited, manifest as specific states of disease. These tendencies are impressions from specific situation in the past (or from previous generations) and make a person feel and react as if he were in that situation (delution).
Delution is a false perseption of reality and disease too is a false persiption of present. The whole mental state of a person is an expression of this false perception (delution).
Mind; dream - represents the prominant components of state of dreamer.
The way the patient expresses himeself & how he relates to the people around him.
If a remedy covers the particulars, without covering the general and mentals, it is bound to fail.

It is a myth that homeopathy is slow to act. In acute ailments like fever, diarrhea, acute infections etc, it acts as fast as conventional medicines, sometimes even faster. In chronic cases like diabetes, parkinsonism, psoriasis etc , it may require sometime to eradicate the disease completely from the body and make the body free from any medicines instead of conventional treatments which gives instant relief but the medicine has to be taken life long.

The action of homeopathic medicine is quick and the effect lasts much longer, often forever. The disease is cured from its roots. With most of the other systems of medicine symptoms are merely palliated or at times suppressed while in Homeopathy they are cured for good.

Homoeopathy is neither slow nor fast. It is a natural system, obeys the laws of nature and takes optimum time to cure. Well, the treatment of chronic diseases depends on innumerable factors patient compliance, extent and intensity of damage, age, nature of previous therapies, the physician’s competence, etc.

The time taken for the cure is proportionate to the chronicity of the ailment. i.e. more old the disease more time it will take to get cured. In fact if a patient seeks homoeopathic treatment at the onset of an ailment, he stands great chances of a really quick recovery. For e.g. if "X" is suffering from bronchial asthma and he is suffering for the last 14 years and has been to various systems of medicine.
