Dr Suwas Darvekar

A long and difficult commute is the reality for many kids in rural India. As a result, many of these children end up dropping out of school. Dr Suwas Darvekar decided to provide children with bicycles to get to school. He has helped 356 children (and counting) through his Cycle for Change project.

Practice management tips for Dentists.
I have been in practice since last 28 years. A few things I learnt on the way.
1.Know what you want: I came to know after a few years of mass practice, that if I have to do what I 'like', I cannot do that with 10 patients waiting in the waiting room.
2. Update n upgrade : Only way to grow is updating n upgrading oneself. When we started cosmetic dentistry never existed and composites had just come in the market. If I hadn't updated n upgraded my skills, I wouldn't have been doing cosmetic dentistry n implant dentistry today.
3. Attitude :Our attitude towards our patient should be helping. If we cultivate this habit, 99% of problems gets solved.
4. Smiling face: Smile helps in breaking the proverbial ice. And once that is achieved, rest all is easy
5. No compromise attitude: We should not compromise on our principles. Don't shove a unjustified treatment even if you have some instalment to pay. Never compromise on sterilization of equipment, never ever reuse something that is disposable. So basically follow the ethics to the core.
6. Cleanliness: keep your clinic clean and uncluttered. It has a great positive effect on us and our patient
